PlayStation is a brand that has fortified its quality in the console market multiple times. Despite Microsoft’s desperate attempts, the latter hasn’t been able to catch up, let alone beat the former. Since the sixth generation of consoles, Sony has foiled every attempt by its rival to dominate the market.
From incredible exclusives to a console that has become the standard for every AAA console gamer, Sony seems not to stop winning battle after battle in the console wars. Now, another rumor has come out that could be the knockout blow in the bout between the two console brands.
The PlayStation State of Play is rumored to be happening in May 2024
According to critics and consumers, Sony’s console lineup exclusives have always been unbeatable in quality. Information and announcements regarding exclusives and first-party titles usually occur at Sony’s showcases or State of Play events.
The previous year was a massive success for the console brand with various exclusives like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy XVI. But fans were disappointed when it was reported that no exclusives would be coming for the PS5 in 2024.
But as per industry insider Jeff Grubb, a new PlayStation Showcase/ State of Play is rumored to be happening in May, where the Silent Hill 2 Remake :

A post on X by an account going by Pyro, an individual who reports leaks and news related to video games, also posted regarding the rumor on his X account.
As seen above, many announcements have been rumored to be a part of the showcase, including Bend Studio’s new IP and an expansion for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. So, if the above is legitimate, it might be the end of the line for Xbox.
Ghost of Tsushima 2 will probably be the PlayStation Showcase’s highlight
One of the most exciting titles that could be featured at the rumored showcase is Ghost of Tsushima 2; with the first title coming to PC in the coming months, the increased popularity will add to the IP’s existing popularity and boost sales when the sequel comes out.
It is a title that fans have celebrated since it came out for the PlayStation 4. Given its popularity, fans are understandably hyped about it and are not hesitant to let it show on social media:
