Edward Norton’s The Incredible Hulk was not as bad of a movie, nor was Norton a bad Hulk. In fact, many Marvel fans would love to have him as the Green Goliath instead of MCU’s Mark Ruffalo. Since the past decade, fans have been wanting to see more of the meaner and scarier Hulk instead of Ruffalo’s toned-down, friendlier version that we got in recent years.

So while fans might never get Edward Norton’s version of Hulk back, a notorious villain from the movie will be making his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Known as Mr Blue, Samuel Sterns will be the antagonist in Harrison Ford’s MCU debut film, Captain America: Brave New World.

The Incredible Hulk, featuring Edward Norton as the Hulk, was an amazing take on the story of the Green Goliath and his origins. Not only was it appreciated by fans and critics, but to this day numerous Marvel fans believe it had one of the best and most comic book-accurate versions of the Hulk.

While we might never get Norton back, Norton’s partner and adversary will be making his way to the MCU. Mr. Blue aka Samuel Sterns is initially introduced in the movie as a fellow scientist trying to help Bruce Banner to find a cure to his green problem.

A ferocious villain in the Marvel comics, Banner and Sterns fail to find a cure. While Banner moves on, Sterns is fascinated by his blood and is then sought by Emil Blonsky to help him become what will later be known as The Abomination.

However, despite helping Blonsky, Sterns is beaten up by him, and his whole lab is wrecked. Injured and hurt, the movie features Sterns lying in his lab with multiple chemicals. Having a giant bump on his head, there Sterns goes on to become the Leader, a genius Hulk-like creature and a ferocious villain.

Sam Wilson’s feat as Captain America will feature a lot of firsts. Other than the fact that this will be his first time as the new Captain America, he will also have to battle the supervillainy that runs rampant in the world. While the movie will also have Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Thunderbolt Ross, it will also feature Tim Blake Nelson reprising his role of Samuel Sterns.

No longer Mr. Blue, Sterns will now be in his Leader form. While talking to Empire’s latest issue, director Julius Onah stated,

“Part of the challenge for Sam as Captain America, working within the government, is the way he’s going to make decisions. The point of view he’s going to have will at times put him at odds with the President. Sam finds himself almost standing between Samuel Sterns and what he thinks the government owes him, and how he wants to go about getting that.”

Unlike Steve Rogers, Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson will be without the super soldier serum, making the movie even more exciting. Promising some formidable and adrenalin-packed action scenes, the prospect of Wilson going against the Leader is something that no Marvel fan would want to miss.
