Xbox fans are pretty excited for the upcoming exclusive title, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2. This game will be launching very soon, and it’s already gaining a lot of praise from people. The significant reason is its visuals; it looks way better than anything Xbox Series fans have seen from one of their first-party studios. Ninja Theory is surely giving this game its best.

This game would supposedly once again do what its predecessor did so effectively. It would take games a step forward in terms of technological advancement, at least in sound design. Everyone who has played the original game in this series can agree that the sound design in Hellblade was outstanding. But one thing that’s worrying everyone is its runtime. How long would it be? Fans might not like the answer to this question.

In late 2023, Activision launched Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, a game that was released to a mixed reaction from critics. It nevertheless became one of the best-selling games of 2023, but fans could not help but notice this game’s very short campaign.

While the runtime of this campaign varies from player to player, some have stated that it is disappointingly short. All this after the developers and publisher of this game hyped it up all over the internet with those exciting story trailers.

This unlocked a new fear amongst fans: that very short games would be sold for a full price of $60 or $70. Hence, they have now started taking a safer path and trying to find out the runtime of games they are looking forward to buying.

One of those games is Hellblade 2. In this game, Senua once again goes on a long journey through the dark Viking lands. She would once again be accompanied by her psychosis; this means those voices would still haunt the players.

But how long would that journey be? How many hours would it take for players to get through it? The answer might be a bit disappointing to some fans. Developer Ninja Theory has stated that Hellblade 2 would be a short experience that would take roughly 9 hours to complete.

While some fans might find this runtime satisfactory, others would want it to be longer. The argument that is being made is that it would be as long as its predecessor, which was of decent length. But fans forget that Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was priced at $29.99. On the other hand, its sequel would cost $49.99, despite having the same hours of playtime.

One can only hope that they will have some worthwhile sidequests in this game. Also, a combat system that entices gamers to go back to it even after they complete the game, as replayability always makes the game better.

Hellblade 2 would not be a disappointment on the technology front

One thing that everyone can be sure of is that this game would be one of the most technologically advanced and artistically rich games out there. This is even evident from all the trailers that Microsoft is releasing.

There’s a lot that can be said about its visuals. Designed on Unreal Engine 5, its character models look pretty lifelike. On the other hand, its motion capture seems like it would once again bag a BAFTA. Hellblade 2 will launch on May 21 for Xbox Series consoles and PC. Fans unwilling to pay $49.99 can also get it on Xbox Game Pass.
