Helldivers 2 is the prime example of what a great live service game should be. Arrowhead Game Studios struck gold with the sequel and resonated well with the gaming community. However, some ideas are worth reusing from the original that could improve the experience.

In a war, soldiers will need every advantage that will help shift the tide in their favor. The game is about intergalactic warfare and it is reasonable to give the players some weapons with great firepower and there is one weapon that could make one stratagem better.

Helldivers 2 Players Wants a Flamethrower on the Mechs

The game has severely suffered from the recent controversies and some players no longer receive the same level of entertainment compared to the earlier days. The developers devised creative ideas for stratagems to help players win a fight like the Mechs but the impressive firepower is not a good compensation for the weaker build.

The gaming community was not giving up on the game and shared suggestions to improve the stratagem, like allowing players to swap out the weapons on each arm. Others took a trip down memory lane and thought taking something from the first game would be a great idea and bringing back the flamethrower.

The Mechs became a phase since the community rarely uses them and the community is doing everything to make it more appealing and relevant like the idea of being able to ride a Mech in a match. This option could open up new gameplay opportunities and allow a squad to wreak havoc and rain down hellfire on anything standing in their way.

Allowing allies to mount on a Mech and use other weapons will increase the likelihood of winning. The hostile forces could easily overrun a full squad but if players in a well-drilled team are given the right gear with the destructive capabilities then it will make the enemies look like paper people and could mow them down in perfect unison.

The Developers Should Consider Reflecting on the First Helldivers

The option to give this stratagem a well-needed upgrade with the flamethrower could discourage the players from quitting. The flamethrower mech was quite effective in the original game and it wouldn’t make sense if the developers refuse to bring it back to increase the entertainment factor and improve the current status of the sequel.

Players will take all the help that they can get and the flamethrower could level the playing field. The game isn’t perfect and some players have noticed that some features are not working up to par like the fire status effect.

Perhaps the developers ought to look into that issue before even considering adding a new weapon for the stratagem. It can be satisfying to wipe out hordes of enemies with the impressive firepower of a new weapon and it could become addictive and encourage players to use it more often.
