Major Orders in Helldivers 2 have become a regular thing, with developers Arrowhead Studios making sure to keep the players engaged. They also have interesting rewards for players who complete them. The rewards won by completing Major orders can come in handy when players wish to buy more armor, Stratagems, or Ship upgrades.

The Helldivers community recently successfully completed two Major Orders, including the Galactic War and the killing of two billion Terminids in recorded time. And now, the game master Joel has another Major Order for players, but this one looks a bit difficult.

Helldivers 2 latest Major Order

According to the latest Major Order, the Helldivers community has been tasked with successfully defending 10 planets from enemy takeover by Super Earth. After facing defeat, both the Terminids and Automatons launched assaults on divers, forcing them to fight on both fronts together and defend at least ten planets in order to complete the Major Order.

The latest Helldivers 2 major order which will reward its participants with 50 medals reads,

“Both the Terminids and Automatons are attacking. Defend our territory on both fronts.”

This mission looks difficult, and some even believe that it “is almost guaranteed to fail.” Usually, not a lot of people play during the weekends and as a result, only three planets were liberated. Besides, the Major Order offers too little time.

Helldivers 2 community manager Spitz even revealed in Discord that this Major Order is designed to force players to lose ground. They added that players will “have to choose which front they want to fight on, but it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to hold them all.

Is Arrowhead exploiting the community’s weakness?

In the past few months, the game has served quite some impressive challenges to the community and the players too have glorious;y come out victorious. These include the unexpectedly quick liberation of Tien Kwan, The Battle of Malevelon Creek, and the slaughter of two billion Terminids in just about 12 hours.

Over these Major Orders, it has been observed that Helldivers are great at tackling simple, focused goals in recorded time, however, they have had a history of being bad at coordinating when there are multiple targets on the board.

Even in the past when there were too many planets to tackle, one planet never got enough active players to liberate it in time. Usually, 200,000+ players will choose to fight on less urgent plants or strategically irrelevant planets, ignoring a planet that has just hours left on its defense timer.

Generally, players don’t pick planets by analyzing the latest war reports on Reddit. Instead, they choose planets based on which enemies are on it, what environmental hazards it has, and how cool it looks, which is somewhat the wrong approach to go about.

Given that Arrowhead knows this weakness and the latest major order requires utmost coordination among players, it seems like the developer is exploiting this weakness of Helldivers.
