Inspired by the tabletop wargame, Warhammer 40k, published and owned by Games Workshop since the 1980s, the Warhammer universe is about to get real in Hollywood. While there has already been a Warhammer 40k feature film, 2010’s Ultramarines: A Warhammer 40,000 movie, a live-action franchise on the video game is on the way. News has erupted that Amazon Studios has bought rights to Warhammer 40k, and the franchise will be led and produced by Superman star Henry Cavill, including a TV show and a movie.

After his reign with the red cape finally came to a close, Cavill declared that he wouldn’t be portraying the Kryptonite anytime in the future. Therefore, fans are thrilled to witness the DC star, who is a Warhammer fanatic himself, to star in the game-inspired universe. Among the diverse characters to be cast, Cavill can find room for his DC mate, Dwayne Johnson in his upcoming TV series. Here are some of the wild characters The Rock would fit best as:

The Emperor of Mankind instituted a group of 20 Primarchs in the Warhammer 40k universe. Vulkan was the fourth Primarch who further created the Promethean Creed. As per Warhammer lore, every Primarch flaunts one of the 20 special traits of the Emperor of Mankind. Found on a war-torn planet Nocturne, Vulkan emerged as a stupendous warrior, and engaged in the battle with Horus’ rebellion.

Therefore, portraying a hulky warrior would probably be a piece of cake for Dwayne Johnson. The action star has established his dominance in the genre with movies like Hercules and Black Adam among others.

2. The Rock

The Rock

The name is quite self-explaining. Even though The Rock in the Warhammer universe is an enormous fortress-monastery, home to the Dark Angles, the creators could move things around and give Johnson the fitting character. If Kurt Russell can play Ego, the living planet in the Guardians of the Galaxy universe, the showrunners can surely scheme out a plan for The Rock to play The Rock.

Warhammer’s The Rock houses the deepest and darkest secrets of the Dark Angels, a crucial part of the Loyalist Space Marine Chapters. Even though the Dark Angels promise faithfulness to the Emperor of Humankind, their actions may not indicate the same. Hence, an anti-heroic role for Johnson, protecting the Dark Angels would cut it.

3. Khârn the Betrayer

Dwayne Johnson usually typecasts his roles to a degree of darkness or violence. Even though Khârn the Betrayer is as ravaging as it gets, it is possible the actor could ace the part. The character is regarded as a champion of Khorne, the Chaos God of Blood and War.

One can imagine the amount of destruction, violence, and wrath associated with the role. It is doubtful if Johnson would agree with such a character, who sees no difference in a friend or enemy, and would rip apart anyone who stands in his way. Nevertheless, it would be interesting if Johnson tried to push his boundaries only a little.

4. Horus Lupercal

Another of the dreadful but mighty characters of the Warhammer universe is Space Marine Legions’ Primarch: Horus Lupecal. A leader of the rebellion against the Imperium, and portrayed as bald, Johnson seems fitting for the role. That is, once again, if he wishes to go beyond his protagonist or heroic roles.

Horus is a strategy and tactics expert and went down as one of the deadliest characters in the Imperium, the most powerful galactic empire in the Warhammer universe.

5. Abbadon the Despoiler

The Warmaster of Chaos, Abbadon the Despoiler is another of the major villains of the Warhammer 40k franchise. A leader of the Black Legion, he is revered as the greatest military leader in history. Formerly known as Ezekyle Abaddon, he is rumored to be Horus’ clone progeny.

Donning a sword might not be a problem for The Rock, given his prior experiences with The Scorpion King. Abbadon wields a powerful sword called Widowmaker, and his hefty proportions go alike with The Rock’s physique. Thus, another great fit for Henry Cavill to consider in his gaming live-action series.
