The cast members of The Walking Dead undoubtedly gave an outstanding performance fighting the undead while trying to survive, but actor Andrew Lincoln seemed to be taking it all to heart. No wonder his character was so convincing.

His costar, Norman Reedus, revealed one thing about Lincoln that most fans would never know, and that is how he literally punches his costars on the set of The Walking Dead. They end up getting injured, and apparently, the actor would deny all of it.

Norman Reedus Reveals Andrew Lincoln Punched His Costars On The Set Of The Walking Dead

While speaking at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, actor Norman Reedus, who played Daryl Dixon, outed his costar Andrew Lincoln live on television and shared that he takes acting very seriously on the set. Another cast member, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, would reach out to Reedus to confide his frustration over his scene with Lincoln.

The thing about Andy is he’s got no coordination whatsoever — zero. I was talking to Jeffrey Dean Morgan [and] he goes, ‘Oh, man. Tonight’s gonna suck because I have a big fight scene with Andy, and he’s going to punch me in the face. He’s gonna drink a lot of coffee and get super excited — he’s going to punch me in the face.’

Norman Reedus added that “it’s supposed to be acting,” but the actor has no coordination. Another surprising revelation is that Lincoln would not admit to his actions.

The thing is, he does it, and then he completely denies that he did. Jeff’s on the phone, he’s going, ‘Man, he’s gonna punch me in the nose.’ Then, my other line rings, and it’s Andy going, ‘Okay, so tonight, I’m getting ready, I’m gonna add a karate kick, and I’m gonna chop him, and I’m gonna throw it, and I’m gonna do all this stuff.’

Reedus admitted that he got punched by Lincoln as well while doing a scene where the latter was supposed to tackle him off-camera and jump into an airbag. However, Lincoln still caught Reedus and punched him with double fists in the face.

Andrew Lincoln Finally Admitted His Faults

In his interview with ComicBook, Andrew Lincoln talked about the scene where he accidentally punched Jeffrey Dean Morgan who played Negan Smith.

It was fun. The only regret I have is I did actually punch him. He actually took it like a champ. I continued, and we got through the night. It wasn’t my finest hour, but the fight, I think, turned out quite well.”

In contrast to what Reedus revealed in the earlier interview, Lincoln admitted his action here. He said that he and Morgan were cool about it, and they actually get along quite well when there are no cameras around.

The 50-year-old English actor may have been taking his method acting quite extremely, but that’s only because he wanted to make his scenes compelling.

The Walking Dead is available to stream via Netflix and AMC.
