Veteran Hollywood star Harrison Ford is not just one of the industry’s most commercially successful stars, but also a bonafide franchise king. The Fugitive actor has been part of two iconic film franchises, namely Star Wars, where he played Hans Solo, and Indiana Jones, in which he played the swashbuckling titular hero.
Ford is known to be a straight shooter who has never minced words while expressing his opinion on various issues. The Air Force One star also has a brutally witty side to him. Popular talk show host Conan O’Brien saw both these traits of Ford firsthand when he was ruthlessly roasted by the celebrity for trolling him about his Star Wars gig.
Harrison Ford Decimated Conan O’Brien With A Classic Retort
After many successful years as a talk show host, Conan O’Brien began his second innings with Conan Needs A Friend, in which he interviewed the who’s who of Hollywood. The unique feature of the show was O’Brien’s flair for roasting his guests through humorous conversations. Harrison Ford though, was a celebrity who managed to give the anchor a taste of his own medicine.
In his interview with Ford, O’Brien brought up the actor’s cult Star Wars films and his iconic character Hans Solo and began his joking insults by saying that he wasn’t impressed with the films and did not even know that Ford’s character existed in the narrative. The Indiana Jones star did not blink an eye as he trolled his interviewer with an epic reply in the Team Coco Podcast of Conan Needs A Friend.
“How come you’re still not on television”?
Ford’s savage retort sent O’Brien and the other guests on the show into whoops of laughter, proving that the veteran star is still as sharp and witty as he ever was.
How Harrison Ford Broke The Ice With Anthony Mackie
Harrison Ford is continuing his love for franchises by becoming Marvel’s latest star-studded addition. The Star Wars actor is all set to portray Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross in Captain America: Brave New World, which will see Anthony Mackie take on the superhero for the first time on the big screen.
Apart from being a huge fan of Ford, Mackie was also equally intimidated to be in his presence. The Fugitive star though, ensured that his co-star felt at ease with his trademark straight-talking skills. Mackie remembered his experience with Ford in an interview with Inverse.
“He’s Harrison f**king Ford. There is this aura about him. But he dispels that really quickly because he’s such a cool guy. He’s everything a movie star should be. He would say, ‘Let’s shoot this piece of s**t.’ And everybody was like, ‘Yeah, let’s shoot this s**t.’”
With fans eagerly anticipating Harrison Ford’s Marvel debut, it now remains to be seen how the actor embodies the nuances of the character. Meanwhile, audiences will have to wait patiently till 26th July 2024, when the film is slated to release worldwide.
