According to GamesRadar, Robert Kirkman said on the bonus Inside Episode 8 segment from Invincible Season 2 that Season 3 will expand on several elements that are established in the latest season. He added that they are shaping each episode from the third season like a finale. And as if this was not massive enough, Kirkman has planned a shocking ending for the upcoming season.

“We want every [season three] episode to feel like it’s a finale. Season three is an absolutely huge season with so many crazy things that you won’t expect. And where we leave things at the end of season three… Oh my god, I cannot wait for people to see that stuff.”

Another showrunner Simon Racioppa also gave her input and revealed that they are planning to explore more characters and stories in Season 3. However, she made sure that the show would not have loose endings and would pick up everything that we left hanging in season two”.

It is evident that from the emotions of the characters to the bloodbath and story, everything will be upgraded to the next level for Season 3. Fortunately, we would not have to wait long for the series as it is already in production. ScreenRant reports that the gap between the second and third seasons will not be like the previous ones.

Invincible has mostly followed the comics except for minor changes. But Robert Kirkman stated to CBR in an exclusive interview that he may make more original episodes for the series. He could not add certain elements to the comics and is hopeful to implement them in future seasons.

“There are a few stories I’ve mentioned in the past that I planned and couldn’t work into the comics. I don’t want to spoil things, but it’s possible there will be episodes in future seasons that are wholly original to the show and written by me. So the potential for that is very exciting for me.”

The ending of Invincible Season 2 provided us with Mark Grayson seemingly killing Armstrong Levy which leads him to a mental dilemma. He starts to believe that he has also become a killing machine like Omni Man. The conclusion also left the Steven Yeun character to fully embrace his superhero personality.
