Ryan Garcia, up until a few hours ago, had convinced the majority of the internet that he needed rehab and psychiatric help instead of a boxing career. One of the most popular names in the world of professional boxing, Garcia has been in the news for the last couple of weeks for his peculiar and weird habits.

His antics and actions looked especially concerning since he was supposed to fight the WBC super lightweight champion, Devin Haney. In a shocker, although he lost the title due to weight, Garcia defeated Haney and even knocked him three times over.

And in a recent interview with PBD Podcast, the boxing champion explained all of his peculiar actions were part of his The Great Escape and a publicity stunt.

“We have it pre-recorded, months ago. What’d I say was gonna happen? I said, ‘I’m about to make sure everybody thinks I’m gonna go crazy.’… Like, I have it all documented. I was already planning it weeks and months behind… I was acting like, sporadic. Like just crazy. Faces, I would do this (scrunch) with my nose, and then I’d be like, ‘It’s just a tick.’… What was real though is at times I did drink a little bit during camp. Because I like to drink.”

Stated Garcia as he exclaimed it was all wisdom coming from God and not himself. While he did not mention his cryptic, now-deleted social media post claiming he was dating Kylie Jenner, and that her dating Timothée Chalamet was all fake, his claims of dating the popular reality TV star might have been also a part of his Great Escape.
