The Hulk
The Hulk is one of Marvel’s pivotal superheroes.

With a kickass trailer that showcased multiple X-Men and mutant characters, a rumor began spreading that two Avengers may appear in the film. With Deadpool and Wolverine jumping through a portal in the trailer, it is possible that Doctor Strange (or Wong) might appear in the film. Alongside the sorcerer, however, there was another theory that Bruce Banner aka The Hulk was going to be a part of the film. Well, an industry insider (known as @MyTimeToShineH) simply refused the possibility with his message on X (formerly Twitter).

Well, that was pretty short. On the other hand, people talked about how awesome it could have been if The Hulk had been a part of this film. Potentially fighting against Wolverine and Deadpool, the fight would have indeed looked cool.

Although the industry insider may have his sources, there is potentially one more side to this story. From what director Shawn Levy has said about the film, it seems that the director simply wanted to make the movie for entertainment and not to care about connecting the dots in the MCU.

With the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starter film on the verge of release, director Shawn Levy revealed in an interview with The Associated Press that he made the movie for fun and not for connecting the dots in the MCU.

“I was a good student in school. I’ll do my homework as an adult. But I am definitely not looking to do homework when I go to the movies.”

He further continued,

“I very much made this film with certainly a healthy respect and gratitude towards the rabid fan base that has peak fluency in the mythology and lore of these characters and this world. But I didn’t want to presume that.”

Well, the world is certainly ready for Wolverine and Deadpool to wreak havoc in the MCU. With the upcoming film on the horizon, Deadpool & Wolverine is slated for a release date of 26 July 2024 in theaters across the U.S.
