The second season of Invincible has taken a slightly different route in terms of Mark Grayson’s story, particularly his romantic life. In the comics, Mark and Atom Eve are a fan-favorite couple and their romance is one of the story’s major plot points. However, despite the second season nearing its end, there is still no sign of their romance.

However, all of that could change after the upcoming seventh episode. Given the trajectory of the comic book storyline and the events the seventh episode is likely to adapt, chances are that viewers might finally get their first glimpse at Atom Eve and Mark Garyson’s romance. Here is everything you need to know about Mark and Eve ending up together in Invincible season 2.

Do Atom Eve and Mark Grayson End Up Together in Invincible Season 2?

In the comics, Atom Eve and Mark Grayson do end up together after Mark eventually breaks up with his girlfriend, Amber. However, the two develop feelings for each other way before Mark ends his previous relationship. Meanwhile, the animated series is yet to hint at the affair as Mark’s relationship with Amber continues.

Consequently, Eve and Mark’s comic book romance has seemingly taken a back seat for the time being. In Robert Kirkman‘s comics, Eve and Mark develop feelings for each other and profess them shortly before Mark fights the Sequids on Mars. In the sixth episode of Invincible season 2, there are hints of Eve’s feelings for Mark resurfacing while the Sequids storyline also plays out.

At the same time, Mark and Amber’s relationship also becomes strained. As a result, all the signs point to Mark and Eve’s comic book romance finally coming to the animated series in the upcoming seventh episode. However, since Mark and Amber are still together it will be interesting to see how the Mark-Eve ship is handled in the series.

How Invincible Season 2 Episode 7 Might Start Mark and Eve’s Romance?

Atom Eve and Mark Grayson’s initial affair and later relationship is one of the major storylines from the comics that has to be adapted into the animated series. However, as of season 2 episode 6, Mark is still with Amber, while other events have progressed. For instance, Mark’s half-brother Oliver is introduced concurrently with Eve and Mark’s romance in the comics.

Similarly, Anissa, one of the most controversial characters is introduced in Invincible #44. The character will likely make her debut in the upcoming episode, which will adapt the monster fight on a cruise from issue #44. Meanwhile, Mark and Eve’s first kiss takes place in Invincible #38 while Mark officially breaks up with Amber in Invincible #42.

Therefore, the animated series will at least need to have Mark and Amber break up in the next episode to keep up with the comic book’s events. As a result, we will likely get a hint of Mark and Eve’s romance in the seventh episode, similar to the comics before they start their relationship officially in the season finale.

Invincible season 2 episode 7 drops on March 28, 2024, on Amazon Prime Video, where you can also stream the rest of the series.
