Rex Splode Could Become The Ultimate Viltrumite Killer!

So far, it has been pretty evident from the TV show that Invincible differs very much from the original material. Based on the comic books of the same name, there have been several differences between the comic books and the TV show.

And between these differences, lies our incredible theory about Rex Splode and his love for explosions (not really). It has been established that the aliens (or villains) in the show i.e., the Viltrulites are very vulnerable to internal attacks. This was seen in an episode of Invincible when Robot kills an alternate-reality Invincible (who was a Viltrumite) by shoving an explosive down his throat and detonating it.

So how does Rex Splode come in between all of this? Well, the answer is pretty simple if you think about it. Rex Splode has the ability to generate explosive energy. Making bombs and attacking the Viltrumites internally, Rex Splode could easily become the ultimate Viltrumite killer in the TV show and it would also be a really awesome sight to see. Although this is just a theory, it seems that the theory might just turn out to be true with the amount of proofs on offer!

In the comic books, Rex Splode explodes himself (no, he really does) to help his team escape from Invincible from an alternate universe. In the TV show, Splode hasn’t exploded himself (yet) and there is a gut feeling that he will not die in the TV show.

Instead of dying like in the comics, Rex Splode could become the Ultimate Viltrumite Killer and since the TV show has deviated enough from the source material, they could keep Splode alive. Another possibility states that Rex Splode could become Cecil’s weapon and be the end for J.K. Simmons’ Omni-Man.

So all in all, there are many theories surrounding the gory-action animated show, With two seasons to its name, Invincible received a rating of 8.7/10 on IMDB and a whopping 99% on Rotten Tomatoes. The iconic 2021 animated show is available to stream on Prime Video in the U.S.
