Ubisoft’s long-awaited open-world pirate adventure is on the horizon, with its release mere days away. The multiplayer game is launching on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on February 16, but is Skull and Bones cross platform?

Playing With Friends on Different Systems: Is Skull and Bones Cross Platform?
Will Skull and Bones be cross platform? Yes, you can play Skull and Bones with your friends, regardless of what systems they use. Ubisoft’s upcoming title supports crossplay, allowing players to gather their party of pirates and sail the open seas together on PC and consoles.
To enable the feature, follow these simple steps:
- Open the settings within the game.
- Open the “Accessibility” tab.
- Scroll down and enable the “Crossplay” feature.
Once the feature is enabled, you can invite any player from your Ubisoft account’s friends list to your lobby via the “Social” tab within the game. Note that you and your friends will need to connect via your Ubisoft accounts to be able to add each other. You can also invite players you have met on a server in a prior play session.
While up to 20 players can be on the same server, you can only invite two people to your lobby to sail together. Thanks to crossplay support, the other players you’ll encounter on your adventures can be on any system.
Does Skull and Bones Have Cross Progression?
Regardless of what platforms your friends are playing on, you may also wonder if you can switch between systems yourself. Thankfully, Skull and Bones supports cross save, meaning you can start your session on one device and continue on another without losing any progress.
To be able to take advantage of this feature, your Ubisoft account has to be linked to the account of the platform you want to play on. Your progression will be saved, allowing you to jump right back in regardless of what device you’re using.
It is important to note that Skull and Bones is an online game, even if you’re playing solo. You need to have your console or PC connected to the internet to be able to play.
Even though the game is not coming to the Xbox Game Pass or PS Plus game catalog, you and your friends need either an active PS Plus or an Xbox Game Pass Core or Ultimate subscription to play on your consoles.
