The upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine film starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman is set to shake up the MCU after a couple of slumps in the past one or two years. Fans have been dreaming about this live-action team-up for years ever since their brief interactions in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Another iconic combination that Wolverine was a part of on the animation side was with the Hulk in the 2009 film Hulk Vs Wolverine. The film did not get the deserved attention and popularity back in the day. As Deadpool 3 comes closer to release, fans are giving a shoutout to the film for giving them a badass two-hander back in the day.
Hulk vs Wolverine Sees a Resurgence As Fans Hail The Underrated Film
Marvel animation has evolved over the years, and fans have witnessed some great entries that have changed the game in storytelling, animation style, and characterizations. Films like Ultimate Avengers 2: Rise Of The Panther, Ultimate Avengers: The Movie, The Invincible Iron Man, and most recently, the two Spider-Verse animated films have been etched into the minds of Marvel fans.
However, two-part- Hulk Vs films have also been two of the most entertaining entries involving the Hulk, pairing him off against iconic Marvel characters like Thor (Hulk vs Thor) and Wolverine (Hulk vs Wolverine via Screenrant). The film was directed by Frank Paur and Sam Liu, featuring the voices of Fred Tatasciore and Bryce Johnson for The Hulk and Bruce Banner, respectively. Wolverine was voiced by Steve Blum, and the character was sent to stop the Hulk by the Canadian Government. The real thrill is when they later teamed up to fight the group Team X. As fans called it, it is indeed an underrated gem.
Deadpool & Wolverine Tops Fandango’s List of The Most Anticipated Films of Summer 2024
Deadpool & Wolverine is Marvel Studios’ only theatrical release of the year, and they are hoping that the film changes the negativity and creative slumps that the studio has been going through. Fans have also been excited about the film, and it seems people can’t wait to experience the craziness that the film promises to offer as it topped a survey conducted by Fandango.
Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool & Wolverine was voted the number 1 most anticipated film of summer 2024 by fans in a poll conducted by Fandango (via Comicbook.com). Other films releasing in the summer that made the top 10 list include Bad Boys: Ride or Die, A Quiet Place: Day One, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, The Fall Guy, and Borderlands.
This poll proves that despite Marvel’s underwhelming track record recently. fans believe that Deadpool & Wolverine will bring back the franchise back to its glory days and be the start of the resurgence of the MCU. It remains to be seen whether Deadpool 3 lives up to the hype when it hits theaters on July 26, 2024.
