While information about its plot is sparse, Karan Soni recently provided some interesting information about the film. In an interview with Collider, Soni revealed everything about the film was very secretive. He teased that Reynolds is taking full advantage of being a part of the MCU and even called out Kevin Feige many times throughout the film. He said,

“I can say that I think it’ll be really good, this movie. Ryan’s taking full advantage of the MCU and playing with all the toys. It also feels like it’s coming at a perfect time for the MCU because it’s ready for a little bit of a shake-up, and he’s definitely shaking it up.”

“And I got to meet Kevin Feige, and I was surprisingly starstruck… it’s very cool to see those minds together. And then Ryan is definitely like, you know, calling him out a lot at the moment. There’s a lot of Kevin jokes [in the movie]. You have to have a good sense of humor and he does. So that’s cool.”

Feige seems to have given Reynolds a significant amount of creative freedom to play around with the mythology of the MCU and even poke fun at it. The MCU needs a big win right now and Reynolds’ film might be the best shot at that, with the studio putting everything on the table to win fans again.

“I’m just gonna say, I’m such a massive fan of everything that Hugh [Jackman]’s done with Wolverine. I think I made five movies he was in, in one form or another, as Wolverine and I’m very excited for the film. I know that for him, and for Ryan [Reynolds] and for Shawn [Levy], exploring some aspects that perhaps we haven’t explored before, I would imagine is appealing.”
