Besides the rumors, several other details like the comeback of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and the multiversal fiasco in the time also excite the fans. According to some latest rumors, Cassandra Nova, who will be played by Emma Corrin, would be one of the most merciless MCU villains.

Cassandra Nova is one of the greatest X-Men foes in the comics and the evil twin sister of Charles Xavier. She possesses powers identical to her brother’s and then some. Her story in the comics was as bizarre as it could be. She belongs to a parasitic lifeform called Mummudrai, who are psychic ghosts waiting to get a host body to copy. They don’t have a body of their own.
Nova encountered Charles Xavier when he was in the womb and tried to kill him. However, he was successful in defeating her using his psychic abilities. This led Cassandra Nova to only have one goal in life, to kill Charles Xavier and all mutants. Certain rumors by Cryptic HD QUALITY show that the MCU will also follow a similar route and stay true to the source material.

The same source also reports that one of the primary things needed to defeat Cassandra Nova, Magneto’s helmet, will also be with her. The Emma Corrin character’s twisted mentality was even highlighted in the comics, where she committed a mass genocide against 16 million mutants in the mutant island nation of Genosha.
Earlier, we never saw such a ruthless villain in the MCU. While they had a chance to do that with Gorr the God Butcher, the Thor 4 debacle is better not to talk about. It will be interesting to see if Shawn Levy is successful in giving justice to such a character on screen.
How will Cassandra Nova’s character play out in Deadpool & Wolverine?
Although the updates about Emma Corrin’s Marvel character are very hopeful, it is difficult to predict how it will play out in the multiversal drama of Deadpool & Wolverine. The basic premise of the film is reported to be inspired by the Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe storyline. However, instead of all the Marvel characters, the Ryan Reynolds character is expected to kill the Fox universe characters.
The teaser and the reports state that a massive chunk of the film will take place in the Void, the dumping ground of the individuals pruned by the TVA. Many theorists believe Cassandra Nova to be a pruned individual from another universe. It is also possible that she was the Professor Xavier of her universe.
Even though Deadpool 3 is expected to have more villains, it is to be noted that a solid backstory and motivation are needed for Emma Corrin’s supervillain to be an iconic one. Characters like Joker have proven that villains need more than ruthlessness to establish themselves as memorable among fans.
