Initially sparking their romance after starring together in the box office disaster Gigli (2003), Lopez is still willing to appear in a project alongside Affleck. Although the decision might ruin her career once again, like before; the singer is willing to take the risk.
Appearing in a Variety video interview, Jennifer Lopez opened up that she wouldn’t discount the possibility of making another movie with Ben Affleck. While reminiscing famous lines from her 2003 movie Gigli, where they first met and fell in love, Lopez reflected upon the time they first met and how much she enjoyed working with Affleck.

Making headlines following her recent Variety video interview, Jennifer Lopez revisited some of her famous films through their dialogues. Throughout the interview, the pop star was presented with famous lines of hers from her 2003 movie Gigli featuring Ben Affleck. The movie was the first time Lopez and Affleck met each other.
“The first time meeting him on that film was at the read-through. They did a read-through of the whole thing and I remember kind of just walking in and I think he was outside, smoking a cigarette and I saw him and we just talked for like a minute and then I sat down and we did the read-through.”
Although the film turned into a box office disaster, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck sparked headlines for their romance. Prior to filming, Lopez was married to her second husband, Cris Judd, but soon, she filed for divorce from him in July 2002. After meeting Affleck on the set, the singer and the actor got engaged by the end of that year.
“I don’t remember a whole bunch more about it, but I remember being on the set with him every day and loving it,”
While revisiting her famous lines, although Jennifer Lopez couldn’t recall all the dialogues, she did remember how much she enjoyed working with Ben Affleck. Although after getting engaged, they split in 2004, their true love didn’t stay distant for long, as they rekindled their romance once again in 2021 and got married in 2022.

Meanwhile, as Jennifer Lopez recalled her famous dialogues from her and Ben Affleck’s 2003 disaster Gigli, the singer was asked if she would ever make another movie together with her husband. According to Lopez, after starring in Gigli, the duo never appeared together in a feature film. But that doesn’t mean she’s shutting the door of opportunity.
Despite their 2003 movie turning into a flop, Jennifer Lopez believes in giving second chances. Therefore, sharing with the outlet, the pop star hinted that, if the time is right, she might appear together with her husband in another movie. Although it’s concerning if the movie will earn fans’ favor or turn into another box office catastrophe like Gigli, Lopez is willing to take the risk.
“I don’t know, in the right thing, maybe, in the right thing. I mean, we love working together and being together, so maybe.”
Gigli undoubtedly sparked Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s relationship, but it also got bombed at the box office and earned highly negative reviews from critics and audiences alike. The movie further made Affleck realize that he wanted to direct films more than appear in projects. But now, Lopez is again looking forward to starring in a movie, alongside her husband.
