Ever since Jonathan Majors was proven guilty by the court of all the charges of abuse and harassment against him and then discharged once and for all by the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans have been wondering how The Multiverse Saga could go on without him since the entire saga was based on his character Kang the Conqueror being the big bad. This has also brought about speculation as to who could replace Majors, and how they could introduce his next appearance.
Well, this mystery seems to have finally been solved by one groundbreaking Marvel theory that encircles the story that could be followed in the next installment of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Not only does this theory bring about a variant of Kang the Conqueror into Shang-Chi 2 to fight Simu Liu’s titular character, but even serves as the most perfect storyline through which Jonathan Majors’ replacement could step in as the big bad of The Multiverse Saga.
This Marvel Theory is Perfect to Continue the Story of Kang the Conqueror
All the controversy surrounding Jonathan Majors and his getting fired from the MCU has brought about questions of who could possibly replace him as Kang the Conqueror in The Multiverse Saga, and the perfect storyline for the same. While the first one is yet to be answered, the second one just may be answered through one simple Shang-Chi 2 storyline.
According to this theory, Simu Liu‘s Shang-Chi sets out on some more adventures with his allies; this time to find out more about the origin of the Ten Rings. It is during this journey that he seemingly comes across Kang the Conqueror, or to be more precise, a variant of the Conqueror, all because of the Ten Rings artifact.
Now, hear us out: It is a well-known fact that the Ten Rings are some type of a beacon, and are calling out to someone or something. But no one really knows who or what they are calling to. Well, the answer to this may have been in front of our eyes all along, but we just may have failed to notice it: The creator of the Ten Rings could be none other than Kang the Conqueror.
As fans already know, the sole motive of the Conqueror is to destroy universes and ultimately conquer the Multiverse through a multiversal war. For this to happen are required incursions, which could be caused by Ms. Marvel’s bands, and perhaps by the Ten Rings as well, since both of these are suspected to be from the Quantum Realm because of the superpowers they grant their wearers.
Moreover, as mentioned before, if both of these are indeed from the Quantum Realm that can open the portals to different universes, then the people suspected of creating them are those who are affiliated with the realm in the first place. These include Scott Lang, Cassie Lang, Hope van Dyne, Janet van Dyne, Hank Pym, and your very own beloved Kang.
Since all the others are literally the least likely to have created such an object that could be powerful enough to even cause incursions, the major suspect here rests on the primary antagonist of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Thus, there rests a very high chance that it was indeed the Conqueror who created the Ten Rings in the first place.
Then there’s the fact that the King of Kings currently resides in the Quantum Realm. So if he has indeed made the Ten Rings just as he is suspected to have made Ms. Marvel’s bands, then the very artifact that Shang-Chi possesses could possibly activate the inner beacon, allowing the Conqueror to escape from the Quantum Realm and enter into Earth-616.
Thus, through this interconnected story, Marvel could not only continue the story of Kang the Conqueror without Jonathan Majors but could also continue to have the character as the big bad of The Multiverse Saga and in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty after bringing him into the second installment of the Shang-Chi saga.
Meanwhile, all Hope of Having Jonathan Majors Back gets Extinguished
Although they were holding on to him before, the court proving Jonathan Majors guilty of all the charges of abuse and harassment from his ex-girlfriend led to the MCU firing him from the franchise once and for all. Still, thanks to his spectacular performance as Kang the Conqueror, fans were hoping Marvel would take him back.
However, with the recent and further allegations against him from two more of his ex-girlfriends, Emma Duncan and Maura Hooper — where he has been accused of emotionally and physically abusing them as well (as per The New York Times); if even any flicker of hope was remaining of him coming back to the saga, it has been extinguished completely.
Thus, whoever steps into Jonathan Majors’ place as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe would have the perfect opportunity to appear first in Shang-Chi 2 as a variant of the King of Kings through this theory, and then continue his story as the ultimate primary antagonist of The Multiverse Saga of the MCU.
