LEGO started targeting kids but has since expanded to include young adults and even adults in their demographic. They achieved this by tapping into popular culture, which goes beyond age brackets, and positioning their pieces as collectible showpieces.

They have even extended their reach into the gaming sphere, leading many fans to hope for LEGO builds featuring their favorite franchise. With the immense popularity of Helldivers 2, it was only a matter of time before a request was made for the same, and the CEO of Arrowhead Games has responded.

Johan Pilestedt is very active on X, often engaging with fans in discourse and also sharing his appreciation for their love of Helldivers 2. So, when he offered his love for artwork made of the Eagle in Blender, @HareBlix on X retweeted him, inquiring when fans would get a LEGO set for aircraft in the game.

Unfortunately, it’s an endeavor the CEO believes Lego would not be interested in undertaking. He does express that it would be a “childhood dream to have some part in the creation of a LEGO set. Pilestedt’s response does not inspire confidence, but at least he’s being realistic and not getting people’s hopes up.

That hasn’t stopped people in the comments from keeping the belief, and it’s not without warrant. Lego is known for sets that showcase a variety of structures, characters, and objects from popular franchises. Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and many more have dedicated sets, and it’s easy to find images of a Lego Death Star or the Tower of Sauron.

One of the replies is an image of a Lego set of a Tallneck, a giraffe-like robot from PlayStation’s Horizon games. Other sets for Sonic the Hedgehog and Mario are also available. Not to mention Lego has numerous games from very popular franchises, so making a set for Helldivers 2 wouldn’t be an entirely alien project to take on.

While most replies on the tweet go on about how they would instantly buy such a LEGO set, one fan went ahead and offered a possible way to make it happen. @WRKRex states that if they can find a passionate LEGO builder in the Helldivers 2 community, they can submit a build idea to LEGO that can be made if it gets the backing of 10,000 supporters.

Considering the concurrent player stats for the game are in the hundreds of thousands, getting 10,000 should be a walk in the park. Whether Pilestedt sees the tweet and follows through remains to be seen, but it appears anyone and everyone can try and submit their ideas to Lego.

Lego sets such as these fall into the categories of collectibles and memorabilia, and fans of Helldivers 2 are sure to pick one up the moment it drops. Despite the more adult themes of Helldivers 2, LEGO could still take on the project to ride the trend and success of the PvE co-op shooter.
