The trailer to Mad Max 2: The Wasteland by Motion Flix Pro is making waves online. It shows a  desolate wasteland, consistent with the Mad Max universe’s post-apocalyptic environment.

It features Tom Hardy reprising his role from Fury Road. In a surprising twist, the trailer shows Mel Gibson returning as the original Mad Max from the earlier films. This raises the question of how these two versions of Max would interact.

It’s unclear if they’re working together or against each other in this harsh new world. The trailer then jumps to action-packed scenes – car chases, explosions, and intense fights.

We catch glimpses of Chris Hemsworth‘s character, who remains mysterious but obviously powerful. While the concept trailer is purely a work of fan fiction, fans are definitely anticipating the sequel in the comment section.

But only time will tell if it becomes a reality. Mad Max: The Wasteland sounds like it’s going to be an epic sequel. But there’s already a big issue brewing with Furiosa.

Furiosa Faces Dilemma in Mad Max: The Wasteland

Furiosa is a prequel to the Mad Max: Fury Road, which is set roughly 15-20 years earlier. It focuses on a younger version of Charlize Theron’s character, played by Anya-Taylor Joy. The movie features Chris Hemsworth as a villain.

But the next Mad Max movie, Mad Max: The Wasteland, is causing some trouble with Furiosa. The character was a hit in the last movie, but there’s a problem with how to handle her in the new one.

Surprisingly, Furiosa won’t be in Mad Max: The Wasteland. George Miller, the director, confirmed this in an interview with Digital Spy. He said, “She’s not in the Mad Max [sequel] story.” This news is quite shocking because the next movie is set to come out not so long after the Furiosa prequel.

There was some debate about whether the older or younger version of Furiosa would appear in the next Mad Max film. But it turns out, neither version will be in it.

Furiosa is set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 15, 2024, followed by theatrical releases in the United States on May 24, 2024.
