Marvel’s Captain America 4 is confirmed to be released next year with the shooting progressing steadily. Although it’s the fourth movie in the franchise, it’s also going to be the first with Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson as Captain America. As a result, fans are extremely eager to see if Sam Wilson does justice to the shield that’s been loved by fans and upheld by Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers for so long.

Another reason for their excitement, though, was the set photos released last time with a sort of funeral shooting going on in a cemetery. The photos featured Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson and even Liv Tyler as Betty Ross attending the military-style funeral, something that led fans to believe that the New World Order might actually bring about the end of the old Captain America.

Although those questions remain to be answered yet, there are another bunch of set photos released recently that threw the fandom into chaos.

Captain America 4‘s new set photos indicate an Eternals tie

In the new set photos released recently, it could be seen that Marvel is building nothing short of a whole island on the sets of Captain America 4. Although it might seem strange on its own, it might be important to finally remember that scene from Eternals where the Sleeping Celestial Tiamut’s body suddenly emerged from the depths of the earth where he was trapped.

However, there has not been a single mention or portrayal of that in the MCU ever since. So fans are wondering if it is finally time that the massive loose end from Eternals would be tied up by the hands of the new Captain America.

Although, it is impossible to say surely, given the stage the shooting is in, or the limited information, there are theories going around with people trying to piece things together, that indicate that this is it. MCU is finally connecting the Avengers and the Eternals. However, there seems to be even more to the story.

Captain America 4’s island set hints at greater MCU connection

In fact, it turns out there might be an even greater story behind the island set that’s being built for the New World Order. As has been reported previously, Captain America 4 will feature the notorious Serpent Society, who are known to be pursuing a new metal called Adamantium. This metal, interestingly, makes up the claws and bones of Wolverines.

And now, comes the Celestial Tiamut’s body being turned into an island part, which the comics suggest is a humongous source of Adamantium. Not only that, other reports claim that this island might be none other than the infamous Genosha, which was once home to about 16 million mutants. If these things line up correctly, it might suggest that after decades of running parallel, Marvel is finally bringing all their superheroes into contact.

Especially with Thunderbolts releasing pretty soon, which might shed a little more light on the Adamantium pursuit as the criminal group was rumored to feature one of the Serpent Society members. Not only that but reports also suggested a few days ago that Eternals 2 might be in pre-production already with a huge budget and its star-studded cast returning.

It will be interesting to see if these connections between the Eternals, the X-Men, and the Avengers do really turn out to be true, and if that somehow leads to the 2026 Avengers: Secret Wars in any way, as that is also known to be MCU’s one of the most ambitious projects to date.

However, although only time will answer that question, for now, fans seem pretty excited to witness the new Captain America taking on the shield and its responsibilities in Captain America 4.
