A few years ago, Insomniac Games and Sony decided to announce Marvel’s Spider-Man out of nowhere. This title was incredible; fans could not believe the freedom it offered; its combat mechanics felt ingenious, and its exploration was as fun as it could be. The standout feature of the Spider-Man was web-swinging, which proved a pure pleasure.

Then came Spider-Man: Miles Morales; another impressive game —a much more polished version of the original Spider-Man. A smaller but significant addition to the series that fans could not get enough of, not till the launch of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This game was even more successful than the previous installment. Thanks to all these games, one thing is for sure: Wolverine will not lack a component most games miss out on.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 developer, Insomniac Games, may include excellent side content in Wolverine

Marverl’s Wolverine would probably feature Logan’s origin story

Back in 2011, when Skyrim launched, it was like a celebration for fans everywhere. It was no doubt a game that was hard for anyone to miss. Its world was designed in incredible detail, and fans all over could not help but appreciate the kind of depth it offered.

With years of lore behind it, there were actual readable books in the game, and activities such as blacksmithing, alchemy, and many others. To add to it, Skyrim had something hidden in every corner; players could just walk across the map and find a bunch of side quests and explorable locations without any problem.

The Witcher 3 took this a step further; this time, the side quests were incredibly detailed. To add to those well-acted and well-written side quests, there was the fact that they were connected with the main story of the game as well. This just goes to show that there are a number of ways to do side content, right?

Insomniac Games, the developer of the Spider-Man franchise, knows this pretty well too. They have even proven this in their previous three games. Years ago, Insomniac developed a game called Sunset Overdrive for the Xbox One series of consoles.

That game had quirky writing and fast-paced transversal mechanics. It was received positively and ended up being a moderate success. If one goes back and looks at that game, they will see signs of Spider-Man in it.

Marvel’s Wolverine promises to be a distinguished adventure

But what about Marvel’s Wolverine? This upcoming game might not have a launch date as of yet, but continues to be one of the most talked-about PlayStation 5 exclusives that will launch in the next couple of years. And people looking forward to it can rest assured about one thing: the side content in that game will be on point.

Besides that, there are chances that it would be an M-rated game with a lot of blood and gore. This is the only way to justify the existence of a Wolverine title. One thing that remains to be seen is if they are planning to connect it with Spider-Man games somehow or not.

What else does Insomniac’s’ future hold?

Venom as featured in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

While Wolverine is next on the table for Insomniac Games, there are rumors of a lot of other games coming from the developers. The biggest thing is that there would be a spin-off featuring Venom. And then it is being suggested that maybe they would end the main Spider-Man story with a third installment.

There are also rumors that this franchise would then fix its focus on Miles Morales. It is certainly exciting, if the rumors turn out to be true. Let’s see what Insomniac has in mind!
