Microsoft’s new game Starfield has gained immense popularity prior to its release date, as the game is set to have countless features that would put it apart from the plethora of sci-fi games present out there. The game is set to have over 1,000 planets, giving players ample time to explore, new creatures to meet and battle it out with alien life forms. The game is set to break all the existing records, as Bethesda will be releasing a game for the first time in over two decades.

However, prior to the release of the game rumors have been surrounding the game. While some people believe, it is an exciting strategy by Starfield’s marketing team, others believe otherwise. Recently, a piece of news started circulating the internet that the new sci-fi game is getting a feature film, and Stephen Ford’s tweets sparked teases, as he had done some advertisement by himself.

Stephen Ford Teases Fans With a Possible Starfield Feature Film

Stephen Ford, the actor who is popular for his role in Teen Wolf and Kamen Rider: Dragon Rider is involved in Starfield’s game for quite some time, and reports state that he will a vital role in the game. While the role of the actor remains a mystery to the fans, he strongly hints at his involvement with the sci-fi game, and he went to Twitter to tease the fans by talking about a feature film. The Beneath the Darkness actor continued teasing the fans with a series of unofficial teases, and how he is interested to interview freelance concept artists for his “itty bitty sci-fi feature film.”

In another series of tweets, Ford confirms that he is indeed involved with the new Starfield game, and he did not bluntly tweet about the feature film. However, if these tweets are to be taken seriously, then several conditions must be met. Since this is Bethesda’s first new creation with no pre-existing sources like other video game adaptations, a movie would aid in increasing the popularity of the game.

This feature movie project could come to life, if Bethesda collaborates with a third-party production company, in this case, Ford’s Ascender would make sense. While a feature film of Starfield would definitely add to the popularity of the hyped sci-fi game, the developer of the game has broken his silence on this matter and talked about this rumor that has spread all over the internet like wildfire.

Starfield’s Developer Talks About the Potential Feature Film

Recently, a developer who has been part of the Starfield game has explained that “there’s no sci-fi movie or show that hasn’t inspired Starfield in some way,” including everything from Event Horizon to Cowboy Bebop.

Emil Pagliarulo, the design director at Bethesda has also answered this in a series of Twitter threads about the movies and shows that inspired the game but remained silent on the feature film. The design director gave some examples, but he was too afraid of giving any major spoilers that would ruin the excitement surrounding the game.

Emil Pagliarulo continued that Donnie Brasco would be a good film to watch to get in the game’s mindset, as the players can infiltrate the Crimson Fleet “as kind of a space cop and report back to your superiors” in the game. The silence of the developers on this issue can only mean that the feature film of the game is a hoax because if it were true developers would have talked about it which would add to the excitement of the sci-fi game.

On the other hand, it can also be interpreted that a feature film might take place depending on the response of the players. Hence, the audience must wait patiently for an official announcement by Bethesda and Microsoft for a feature film in the near future.
