Nicole Kidman’s Daughter Encouraged Her to Do Big Little Lies Season 3

In an interview with Variety, Nicole Kidman said that she and co-star Reese Witherspoon are “texting every day” about the third season. And she confirmed that they’re working on it. But behind this, there is Kidman’s daughter who encouraged her mother to bring more seasons of the popular series. 

My daughter is the one who watched both of the series and went, ‘Okay, there’s just no question, there has to be a third,’” Kidman said in a recent interview with Elle magazine, adding that Sunday provided her notes on character development. 

She’s like, ‘Celeste, she’s not coping in the second one, what is she doing? I could kind of see the point of view of Mary Louise.’

While speaking with Vogue Australia, Kidman stated that her daughter watched the series for the first time recently and got passionate about more seasons

She has a very good understanding of things and life, so she was hand-held through it,” the star said.

And she was like, ‘No. There’s no more discussion. The third series has to happen… I’m sick of the talk. Sick of circling it. Just get it done’. You need a teenager to go, ‘Enough. Just do it’.

The second season of the series concluded in 2019 and almost everyone seemed to be interested in doing the third season. But then director Jean-Marc Vallée passed away back in December 2021 and plans did not move forward. 

Nicole Kidman Did Not Want to Use A Body Double 

The hit HBO drama Big Little Lies is known for its portrayal of intense scenes having emotional, physical, and s*xual abuse between the characters Celeste and Perry, portrayed by Kidman and Alexander Skarsgård respectively. Known for her extraordinary talent and versatility, Kidman captivated the audience with her role in Big Little Lies.

Talking about her dedication towards her craft, Alexander Skarsgård shared earlier that Kidman opted not to use any body double for her role. Kidman insisted on performing those actions herself. 

Nicole and I had some time together to build up that trust before shooting those scenes which was crucial to have, because again, some of them are very violent and very physical and very psychologically draining,” he revealed on KISS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O Show.

She is incredibly committed and we did have a body double, like a stunt double on set, for you know, when I throw her over chairs and stuff and when it gets really violent, and Nicole wanted to do it herself.” (Via Fox News

Kidman even received bruises while filming some scenes and she found it hard to explain her daughters which led to the conflict between passion and personal relationship. Nevertheless, she feels grateful that her character in the show has resonated with other women.
