Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire pretty much laid the foundations for Marvel’s comic book adaptations. Not only were their movies highly successful but they kickstarted and revived the superhero genre back in the 2000s, helping set up the now billion-dollar worth MCU.

After Maguire made his entry into the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have been hoping to see him back. Ever since the actor reappeared as Peter Parker, there have also been rumors that the actor and Raimi are working on a fourth film.

However, recently while talking to CBR, the filmmaker quenched those rumors by stating that he is not working on such a film yet. Stating that he hasn’t heard anything about it, from the studio or Maguire, Raimi added that he is on great terms with Marvel Studios.

While he might be making a Maguire starter Spider-Man 4, there have been rumors that he is in talks to helm another Marvel project— the Tom Holland starter Spider-Man 4! As per Jordan Ruimy of World of Reel, the director hasn’t been made a formal offer but is reportedly in talks.

While Sam Raimi might not be working on a Tobey Maguire spider flick yet, the director is reportedly in talks with Marvel Studios to direct Tom Holland‘s fourth spider film. After the 2021 entry, No Way Home, a fourth part is a long time coming.

Even though no director is attached to the project, as per Daniel PRK (via Heroic Hollywood) the production is slated to start in September of this year. And with Raimi on great terms with Marvel Studios, it would be great for the director to helm such a film.

As the rumors of Raimi directing a Tom Holland movie went viral, here is how fans reacted:
