Xbox and PS5 players have a long-standing rivalry, but Stellar Blade is making Xbox players regret not choosing the PlayStation ecosystem. Along with games like Helldivers 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth also not making their way to Xbox consoles, Xbox fans feel pretty hard done.

Scheduled to be released on PS5 on April 26th, 2024, Stellar Blade is adding to the growing list of games that Xbox fans bemoan for not coming to their consoles. Previously they had been trying hard to get Helldivers 2 to the console with Phil Spencer trying his best to make it happen, but failing.

Xbox players had started the year on a high with the news of the release of the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle game. However, things have failed to look up for them since the gaming world was gripped with the Helldivers 2 fever. They waited for the game to come to their consoles, but it never happened.

While this fan openly admits to being jealous of PS5 players for being able to play Stellar Blade, others were not so clear. But subtle jealousies can be spotted everywhere as Xbox players started a hate campaign against Stellar Blade for apparently having ‘anime-like’ female characters.

One fan even pointed out that Sea of Thieves, released 6 years ago, is currently more sought-after than Stellar Blade.

But despite all the hate, one thing is clear. Xbox fans hating on Stellar Blade is just a case of ‘grapes are sour’. Not having any titles to match the PlayStation counterparts, a section of Xbox players have started a smear campaign on Stellar Blade. Like in the above post, a lot of them called out the game for their supposedly ‘unrealistic’ portrayal of the game’s female characters.

But PlayStation fans were not far behind as they began questioning who were Xbox to direct others on how to build female characters in-game.

The Console War between PS and Xbox fans reared its head pretty viciously as both groups took turns throwing shades at each other. But the banter quickly turned pretty toxic as homophobic slurs and fat-shaming graphics took over the space instead of healthy banter.

With X currently having little to no moderation, the ugly comments kept on pouring as PlayStation fans shared an image of a plus-sized woman as the protagonist of Stellar Blade if it was made for Xbox. This propaganda, like all things bad on the internet, gained a lot of traction as many users showed their true colors.

The ugly exchange of posts on X between PlayStation and Xbox fans shows precisely what is wrong with the gaming industry today. While some of them tried engaging in banter like always, a huge part of the users started using homophobic, degrading, and fat-shaming slurs against each other.

But aside from the controversy, it does not seem like Stellar Blade will make an appearance on Xbox. So its fans will just have to sit back and watch their PlayStation counterparts have fun.

I travel. I game. I write. In no strict order.

The single biggest lie told all around is, "It isn't that simple." It is simple, everything is. And that is what I emulate in my writing. No unnecessary jargons and no flamboyant flourish. Just what's needed to get your imagination going. After all mind has no limit, unlike the written word.
