During the entire run, it was clear that the characters didn’t get along, particularly due to the latter pulling pranks on the former. Although the show has long concluded, Wilson is still stuck with these antics and recently expressed on getting closure from the pranks. His statement comes shortly after he got pranked during his Florence trip.

Rainn Wilson Got The Office Jell-O Prank in Real Life!

Fans of The Office must be aware of what Rainn Wilson’s Dwight Schrute went through for years during the show’s run. He was often frustrated all due to Jell-O pranks that his apparent biggest rival, Jim Halpert pulled on him.

In the pilot episode, which aired in 2005, Halpert pulled a hilarious prank on Dwight Schrute by encasing his stapler in Jell-O. Dwight was annoyed upon realizing the prank, which happened when their boss, Michael Scott (Steve Carell), brought a new temp employee, Ryan (B.J. Novak), to introduce him.

While this majorly contributed to the rivalry between them, Wilson faced a similar scenario in real life during his trip to Italy. On April 22, the 58-year-old actor shared details about what happened during his Florence trip in a post on his Instagram account. In the post, he shared a picture showcasing a red Jell-O with a knife and fork stuck in it, referencing the infamous prank Jim pulled on Dwight.

In the caption, he wrote,

“This is what happened when I ordered room service at my hotel in Florence… @plazahotellucchesi.”

The nine-season show is filled with several interesting moments, including the interactions between Halpert and Dwight. Their characters evolved from being cut-throat rivals to best friends, showing significant development. While their relationship advanced with every season, the Jell-O joke seems to have stuck with Wilson in real life, which is why he now wants to move on from that.

“I posted that thing on Instagram about my silverware and Jell-O in Italy. My fear is that I won’t be able to go anywhere without stuff being put in Jell-O.”

He continued,

I‘ll go valet park, and then my car keys will be in Jell-O. And I’ll go to a baseball game, and the baseball will be in Jell-O. And the list goes on and on.”

He jokingly added how he wants others to move on from the sitcom’s famous prank.

“So I hope people cool it with the Jell-O jokes. That’s all. Unless it’s edible. I will eat my weight in Jell-O.”

Based on the UK series of the same name created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, The Office depicts the everyday lives of employees at the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. The show became a cultural phenomenon due to its satirical style, winning numerous awards during its run.
