As per multiple scoopers and Comicodigy (@comicodigy), Mr. Sinister is heavily rumored to be “the main villain that the MCU’s Xmen will face.” If rumors are set to be true the film will kick off the new saga after the MultiVerse saga.

The villain would play a critical role in the revival of MCU’s popularity as he will be in the longer plans and will be the major attraction among the X-Men enthusiasts. However, many fans are not of the 15 major superpowers that are surely going to give a difficult time to the mutant team.

Here is a list of the major superpowers that make the Diabolical Genius a formidable foe of the mutants!

10) Enhanced Regeneration

Much to popular belief of how Mr. Sinister is not a mutant, where he was a scientist named, Nathaniel Essex, living in Victorian-era London. However, the noble scientist was transformed into a mutant when Apocalypse was interested in his work, that is genetics. Apocalypse transformed Essex into a villainous entity.

One of the most useful abilities, that the character possesses is his unparalleled regenerative ability, and he can regrow his entire body from a single cell, and unlike Wolverine or Deadpool that regeneration process happens very quickly. Hence, taking him down in combat would be nearly impossible.

9) Telepathy

Since the entity loves to work from the shadows by manipulating and making other people do his bidding. He also possesses powerful telepathic abilities, that allow him to read other people’s thoughts, and defend himself from mental attacks, and if that’s not enough, he can also control the minds of others. Using these abilities, he can mask his presence from other psychics, making him a ghost and impossible to track.

Although his telepathic abilities are not as strong as Professor X or Legion, he is above the rest, and in the Age of Apocalypse universe, he defeated Nate Grey, a powerful psychic, who was a genetically engineered clone of Cyclops and Jean Grey.

8) Telekinesis

Telekinesis is another useful powerful ability of Essex, and it is quite similar to what pop culture fans have witnessed in the Force in Star Wars. Much like the original franchise, the power can be used to manipulate anything around you. The evil doctor can manipulate objects with ease and he uses this ability to levitate himself, giving him the power of flight, while lifting several tons or more with his mind alone, using it to deflect the effects of energy-based attacks.

7) Body Theft

If the aforementioned powers were not enough, Mr. Sinister possesses body theft, where he won’t take long to heal from his wounds, but he is broken enough to have the power of cheating death by creating a virus that was distributed into several unknowing hosts, containing a complete copy of his DNA, that would override the body of its host upon death.

Hence, upon his death, he’d take over the host, allowing him to survive a final death if one manages to obliterate every single cell of his body. The new body will contain all the powers of the main body, which makes him a formidable threat.

6) Shape Shifting

Mr. Sinister adores working from the shadows, as he kept his presence concealed from the X-Men until after the Morlock Massacre. However, even after the incident, he was involved in several unfortunate events by being involved with Gambit and other unsavory missions. Sinister’s genetically modified cells, allow him to shapeshift, transforming him into anything as well as make weapons and armor from his own flesh.

But what makes him a real threat is his shifting ability is not limited to size as he can transform into anything that is either a lot bigger or smaller than his base form. Hence, it denotes that Mr. Sinister can transform into animals and use their unique traits, such as flight or enhanced senses.

5) Clone Creation

The evil scientist is infamous for breeding clones. While this task is not everyone’s cup of tea creating it in mass batches is something that can be easily done. When the entity gained the power of the Dreaming Celestial, he briefly acquired almost godlike abilities.

Using these abilities, he created a copy of the Victorian-era London filling it with clones of himself with his abilities, which he believes is the perfect army. Though it was destroyed shortly after, this ability showcases his evil genius.

4) Energy Blasts

Mr. Sinister also possessed the power of firing bolts of sheer energy from his finger, which can incapacitate his opponents in an instant, without killing them on the spot. This non-lethal aspect is immensely useful when he needs to capture his target alive. However, the character can also fire these blasts from any point on his body, despite majorly using them from his fingers.

3) Teleportation

Mr. Sinister

In the X-Men comics, the antagonist has displayed the powers of teleportation, while he can use this ability with a device, which gives him that strength, and once robbed he’ll lose this power. However, robbing the device of the entity will be a task in itself, as he has a wide range of powers.

Moreover, he can teleport to huge distances, but it’s limited to within the Earth’s atmosphere, though this may also be due to Mr. Sinister’s lack of interest in cosmic events. Nevertheless, it is a useful ability if he feels his life is in grave danger.

3) Super Human Strength

Fans must not have the opinion that Mr Sinister is a weak individual as he prefers to work from the shadows. Once forced to engage in a melee combat he will use his fists to incapacitate his opponents which contains superhuman strength, which aids him to pick up tons of weight using his strength alone. He rarely uses physical strength for situations when he needs to lay the smackdown on some unruly mutants.

2) God-like Reflexes

The genetically enhanced body of Mr. Sinister has prized him with the powers of god-like speed/ reflexes, though his speed is nothing compared to Quicksilver, his superior body indeed allows him to run faster than the other mutants, which makes him a difficult opponent in close combat as super speed with great reflexes and superhuman strength would practically make him impossible to touch.

1) Power Theft

Last but not least, Mr. Sinister possesses the trait of power theft. The character didn’t possess the ability when he was transformed by Apocalypse, over time he performed experiments on himself that transformed his genetic structure, allowing him to gain total mastery over his body.

This ability was gained when he got his hands on a mutant known as the Courier, an old ally of Gambit. He came up with the plan to kidnap the mutant to copy his abilities into his cell. With enough time and energy, Mr. Sinister could feasibly grant himself the powers of any mutant that he could get his hands on.

In addition to so many useful powers, he also possesses the abilities of invulnerability, immortality, force fields, and power disruption. Hopefully, in the reboot version of the film, fans will get to see a glimpse of all these powers that would make him a fan-favorite character in the MCU.
