Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt are still riding the wave of success at the Oscars. Both actors were part of ‘Barbenheimer’, the biggest phenomenon of 2023, which saw Barbie and Oppenheimer go head-to-head.
Both Gosling and Blunt impressed in their respective roles, the former as Ken in Barbie and the latter as Kitty Oppenheimer in Oppenheimer. And now, the duo will come together in the action comedy film The Fall Guy.

Helmed by David Leitch, The Fall Guy is based on the 1980s TV series and is a tribute to the stuntmen of Hollywood. It tells the story of Colt Seavers, played by a spectacular Ryan Gosling, as he finds his place in the world of stunts once more. It was a challenging role, but the actor was spectacular.
Seavers has been working as the stunt double for Tom Ryder, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, an international star, for six years. He leads a good life, dating the woman of his dreams, Jody Moreno, played by Emily Blunt, and doing the job he loves.
Unfortunately, an accident on set causes his dreams to crumble. Not only does he give up his career and start making a living as a valet for a Mexican restaurant, but Seavers also breaks up with his girlfriend.
An interesting turn of events sees Seavers cross paths with Moreno once again, who is trying to get her debut film ‘Metal Storm’, a high-budget sci-fi, off the ground. Moreover, Tom Ryder, the star of the film, has gone missing, and the former stuntman jumps in to save the day and his ex-girlfriend’s lifelong dream.
Both Blunt and Gosling share a crackling chemistry, and they manage to flex their comedic chops. Moreover, the Oppenheimer star adds an exquisite flavor to Moreno, making her stand out in all her scenes. During an interview for the film at SXSW, Gosling was all praise for Blunt. “She brought the Blunt-force,” he gushed about the actress.
The Fall Guy offers a fresh perspective on how studios have come to rely on technology as a substitute for humans. In the process, the film has also managed to set a Guinness World Record.
The Fall Guy makes its way into the record books
The latest film by David Leitch is a love letter to the community of stuntmen and women. As the former stuntman for Brad Pitt, Leitch understands what goes into making an action scene believable.
The film is sprinkled with magnificent stuntwork, and Leitch finds the right balance between the physics of the scene and its final execution. In doing so, he has ensured that the film rolls its way into the Guinness World Record for the most number of cannon rolls in a car.

Rotten Tomatoes shared an exclusive look into how the scene came to be. Most importantly, though, it shone a light on the risk a stuntman takes to execute such a scene flawlessly.
The Fall Guy premiered at SXSW and has been earning rave reviews so far. It is set to hit theaters on May 2nd.
