Starfield is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and its full launch is just around the corner. Developed by renowned studio Bethesda Game Studios and directed by the famous Todd Howard, it features more of what we’ve come to expect from Bethesda. That includes, but isn’t limited to, massive open worlds teeming with life, hidden items to find, secrets to uncover, areas to explore, characters to customize, interesting factions to join or oppose and much, much more.

Ahead of its full launch in a few days, some players have already received access to the game after ordering the Premium or Constellation editions. From them, the larger gaming community has gotten to see Starfield online, whether it be on Twitch or YouTube or discussions in forums, Reddit, Twitter/X or elsewhere. One particular item that caught the eye of some fans online was the Pirate Assault Spacesuit with the Chameleon perk.
Where is the Chameleon Pirate Assault Spacesuit?
As with many video games, enemies drop items after being defeated by the player, and these items can then be picked up by the player character for themselves. The Chameleon perk allows players to briefly turn invisible and thus not be spotted by enemies, making it very useful when stealth is of the essence. As of now, it appears that the Pirate Assault Spacesuit with the Chameleon perk is one of these dropped loot items with there being no fixed location to find it.

However, the Pirate Assault Spacesuit, with or without the Chameleon perk, could potentially be found after an encounter with the Crimson Fleet and in their possessions. The invisibility that this suit, and others which possess the Chameleon perk, offers has been humorously compared to the Predator movies.
What are some of the unique spacesuits in Starfield?
Starfield is a game set in outer space, so players will naturally have to wear spacesuits, and since it’s a Bethesda game, there will be several to choose from as well. These could be discovered in hidden areas, rewarded after completing certain quests, found after going off the beaten path or through some other means. Two particular unique suits of note are the Ranger Spacesuit and the Mantis Spacesuit.
The Ranger Spacesuit is given after players complete a series of quests and become a Freestar Ranger, and they can begin this quest line by talking to Emma Wilcox at The Rock in Akila City. Once these quests are done, and players have earned her trust, players will get the Ranger Spacesuit.
As for the Mantis Spacesuit in Starfield, the three components comprising this spacesuit are found in the same mission called “Mantis”. This mission begins by reading a randomly dropped “Secret Outpost” slate by Spacers and guides players to a hidden base on another planet, where they will have to defeat the Spacers present there. Once done, this suit can be found in the Mantis’ Lair.
