Getting a 30-second ad during this top-watched event is pricey—around $7 million for a prime spot in the first quarter this year. With the box office still recovering from the pandemic, Hollywood is looking to convert these big marketing investments into massive ticket sales for its upcoming blockbusters.

There are also chances that the trailer for one of the most anticipated films of this year, Deadpool 3, may appear during the event. Even though the untitled Deadpool threequel is overshadowing the excitement for nine other movie trailers, they are also noteworthy and shouldn’t be missed.

This year’s Super Bowl will be dominated by one studio, running almost twelve ads for both upcoming and existing releases. It’s Paramount that has plans to show ads for three movies: Quiet Place: Day One, Knuckles, and IF.

It has a big presence in the annual league championship since it’s airing on CBS—a sister company to Paramount. Apart from these movies, Paramount will also use the time to promote Paramount+ projects. Before the game starts, Paramount+ will show eight ads featuring titles like Knuckles.

Disney is also expected to advertise some of its big summer movies on Super Bowl night, but the studio hasn’t revealed which ones will be featured in the ads.

In addition to Deadpool 3, there is a chance that viewers might get a sneak peek at Pixar’s highly anticipated sequel, Inside Out 2. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, set to open in May and already receiving extensive promotion, might also secure a spot during the Super Bowl.

Universal also tends to spend big on Super Bowl Sunday but is playing surprise games. There’s a chance that audiences will get a glimpse of Chu’s grand adaptation of Wicked.

Other movies to watch for include an action-comedy with The Fall Guy, the return of Jack Black voicing Po in Kung Fu Panda 4, and a sequel of sorts to the 1996 disaster epic Twister titled Twisters.

Here’s a list of projects for which footage is reportedly expected to drop during the Super Bowl on Sunday:

Major Studios Choose to Skip Super Bowl Trailers

Warner Bros., Sony, Netflix, and Amazon won’t be showing any trailers at the event, even though they have a bunch of big movies coming up.

Sony usually skips the Super Bowl, so there are no trailers for Bad Boys 4 or the next Ghostbusters. Warner Bros. may have already spent big by showing Dune: Part Two during the AFC and NFC Championships on Jan. 28.

It’s a bit surprising that Amazon won’t be promoting any titles, like the upcoming Anne Hathaway rom-com, The Idea of You.
