Add to that her picture-perfect love life with NFL star Travis Kelce, and we can not ask for more. But now she does have more, in the form of her latest deal with Disney. As if she wasn’t already winning in life, she had to go and add more to the list of achievements accomplished.

Taylor Swift’s Multi-million Dollar Disney Deal

Taylor Swift recently sold the rights to exclusively stream her concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) to Disney+ for more than $75 million. Yes, you heard it right, more than 75 million dollars! This is more than Sandra Bullock got paid for her performance in the Oscar-nominated movie Gravity – $70 million. Universal, who had rights to distribute the digital and Video on-demand of the film was outbid, along with Netflix, for exclusive streaming rights by Disney.

According to Puck News, the streaming giant has also gotten the rights to stream five extra songs that were not included in the previous version of the movie. Neither Disney nor Swift are yet to comment on this ground-breaking deal, as of now, in detail. But Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney said,

“We know audience are going to absolutely love the chance to relive the electrifying ‘Taylor Swift: Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)’ whenever they want on Disney+.”

The digital release, distributed by Universal, included three extra songs – Wildest Dreams, The Archer, and Long Live – which were not part of the concert movie that was released in theatres on Dec 13, 2023.

More On This Multi-million Dollar Deal

Given Disney is paying the singer-songwriter more than $75 million for exclusive streaming rights, they are sure to have some extra perks. The Eras Tour, when released in cinemas, became the highest-grossing concert movie of all time before Universal secured the Digital/VOD rights. As per sources, the Disney+ version will include five more songs than the Digital version. And though we do not have confirmation on which 5 songs will be added, we can sure take some guesses.

One of the bonus songs will be Cardigan, one of the fan-favorites from her 2020 studio album Folklore. The other four songs are likely the four acoustic “surprise songs” she performed at the So-Fi stadium in LA, where the movie was shot over the 3 days of her concert: Death by a Thousand Cuts, Maroon, You Are in Love, and I Can See You.

The expanded version of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) will start streaming on Disney+ on March 15, 2024.
