When the actor got the opportunity to play his character in the HBO series, he said he was confused thinking it was a scam.

“I was confused and I didn’t want to give her my phone number. I thought it was a scam,” Cloud told GQ in 2019. “I had to change [some of the lines] a little bit. To make it sound real, like how I would say it.”

Cloud eventually played the role, but acting, for the actor, was not easy.  “[Acting] is a different kind of hard. I am not running around sweating, but it’s that mental s—t,” he added. Euphoria had been hard for the actor and it took the best of him on several grounds, which includes his fame after appearing in the show, and the disturbing comparison of his with his character in the show. Cloud told Variety in 2022,

“It does bother me … when people are like, ‘It must be so easy! You get to go in and be yourself. I’m like, ‘Why don’t you go and do that?’ It’s not that simple. I brought a lot to the character. You can believe what you want. It ain’t got nothing to do with me.”

The actor also struggled with the fame he received after playing his role as a local drug dealer. “People knowing me and recognizing who I am. That s—t f—ks with my mind for sure,” Cloud told Interview Magazine in 2022.

“I’d rather people didn’t recognize me,” he confessed, continuing, “I’m not mad at them because they do, but I’d rather they didn’t. I just want to have regular interactions with people. I don’t want to be treated special.”

Certainly, the actor wished for a simple life beyond showbiz. The actor also confessed to having acting fatigue earlier which has also posed as a psychological issue for the actor.
