Peyton List is an American actress known for her role as Tory Nichols in the Netflix series Cobra Kai. Before her famous role in the Netflix series, List recalled that she had a humbling experience when she was just 6 years old in Hollywood.
Talking about a potential role in Sam Raimi’s 2004 film Spider-Man 2, Peyton List talked about how she was called an “ugly twin” by casting agents who found her brother handsome. The actress further stated that they begrudgingly allowed the shoot but the scene was eventually cut from the 2004 film!
Cobra Kai Star Had A Humbling Experience In Hollywood
List is an American actress with some fame to her name. The actress is famous for portraying the role of Tory Nichols in the iconic Netflix show Cobra Kai. Although the stress found fame, Peyton List recalled a sad story when she realized the horrors of Hollywood.
Back in 2004, List’s brother was approached by casting agents who wanted to cast him in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2. When List fought for her role in the movie as well, the actress revealed to the Livin’ Large w/ Mark Dohner podcast that she had her mother’s support. Eventually, both the twins were selected for the scene and had to audition for the role in Spider-Man 2.
“They were like, ‘No, you don’t look alike. You’re like the ugly twin, so move aside.’ No, I’m not kidding! So, my mom brought us both into the agents, and my brother’s just kind of always been the one that’s super chill, and I’m like, ‘I would love to do this. Hi!’ And they were just saying, ‘Yeah, we don’t need girls. We just want him still.’
She further continued,
“[…] And so my mom said, ‘You have to sign them both, because she really wants to do it. If you have to get him, you have to get her,’ and she was like, ‘or we’re walking.'”
This wasn’t all since Peyton List further continued that the casting agents begrudgingly selected her and her brother for the role. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, List and her brother’s scene was removed from the film!

Although both brother and sister managed to shoot the scene for Spider-Man 2, the real shocker for Peyton List was when the scene that she had shot was cut from the final draft of the movie. Stating it as a “double whammy”, the Cobra Kai star revealed that it was a humbling experience.
“It’s pretty awesome. My part got cut, so,” List said. “Yeah, it was a double whammy. ‘They didn’t want you, you got cut from your first film, welcome to Hollywood, kid!’ But, it was good for me. It was good for me at six… It humbled me. That’s why I have super low self-esteem… No, I’m kidding.”
Following the years, List starred in the role of Tory Nichols in Netflix’s Cobra Kai and became quite famous for her role in the series. With high ratings and The Karate Kid Universe in the making, Cobra Kai is available to stream on Netflix in the U.S.
