In a recent interview with the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, he gave an insight into his successful career. During the segment, he confessed about auditioning for Charlie Cox’s Daredevil series.

Pedro Pascal has been active in the industry for over two decades now. However, his time to shine eventually came when he played a supporting character in the fourth season of the Game of Thrones. Following that, his role as Javier Peña in Netflix’s Narcos (2015–2017) further rose him to prominence.

Given that his work is top-notch in both television and films, he eventually cemented himself among the most sought-after actors in Hollywood right now. As he continues to get linked with Reed Richards’s role, he provided insight into how he nearly joined the Marvel family through the Daredevil series. 

In a recent Pedro Pascal Career Retrospective episode from the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, he talked about auditioning for a lawyer role in the Netflix series, which is now considered an MCU canon. While talking about his journey of getting cast in Narcos, he talked about auditioning for the Marvel project. 

“I was auditioning for Daredevil.”

When asked whether it was the titular role he auditioned for, The Last of Us actor replied,

“No, it was like a supporting a supporting character, you know, character number six. He was a lawyer.”

While the actor was unable to recall the character’s name in the interview, the role may possibly have been Foggy. For the unversed, Franklin Percy ‘Foggy’ Nelson is a lawyer and the best friend of Matt Murdock. Elden Henson was eventually cast to play the role. Whereas, the GOT star was offered the Narcos project to intercept him from testing for Charlie Cox’s show. The rest is history! Quite a surprise twist for fans since he’s again linked with Marvel Studios for a big role.

As soon as the Fantastic Four project was announced, many fans started speculating about the casting of four main roles. However, rumors and speculations put him as the frontrunner for the Mr. Fantastic role. Given that the production for the movie is set to commence soon, many are waiting for Marvel Studios to announce the cast list which would confirm the actor’s casting.

Recently, the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) Foundation posted his since-deleted biography, seemingly confirming his casting. The career profile noted (via MovieWeb),

“Pascal recently wrapped production on Ridley Scott’s highly anticipated Gladiator 2 and will soon begin production on Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four.”

Not just that, the Fantastic Four director, Matt Shakman also shared a news post on his Instagram story stating the same. However, he soon deleted his account, raising more suspicions regarding the casting. The actor himself has dodged to acknowledge the casting rumors in the same interview, which leaves fans to only sit back and await an official announcement from Marvel Studios.
