Henry Cavill might be a hunk with the literal body of a Greek God and handsome features that make him the most perfect match for DC’s fan-favorite superhero, Superman, but that isn’t quite the place where most of his interest lies in. In fact, if anything, he doesn’t even consider the role of Superman or even that of the spy he recently played in Argylle to be “the greatest privilege” of his career.

Instead of all these action roles related to superheroes and spies — all of which he has notably performed some of his most impressive feats of all time — Henry Cavill is more indebted to something else when it comes to the great privileges of his professional career; something that many fans would be unable to decipher if they’re not avid gaming nerds like the Man of Steel star.

The Thing Henry Cavills Calls “The Greatest Privilege of my Professional Career”

It is truly unfortunate that Henry Cavill has lately lost out on two of his most iconic projects of all time — The Witcher series and DC’s Superman role — and had his long-awaited spy movie Argylle failed by critics and general audiences in an unfortunate turn of events.

However, the Hollywood heartthrob is still as optimistic about things as ever; all because of one project that he is notably obsessed to the core with: A brand new Warhammer 40,000 “cinematic universe,” with him being involved in its creation.

In fact, Cavill is so head over heels for this one project that there’s no other place he’d rather be when it comes to this particular project. During a recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused with Josh Horowitz podcast, he echoed the same while talking about this “cinematic universe”:

“It is the greatest privilege of my professional career to have this opportunity,” Cavill said. “I can’t say too much, again it’s early days still, but to have this opportunity to bring it to the screen and be at the tiller so it can be faithful, is key to me.”

Reportedly, this video-game-based Warhammer 40,000 project that the Justice League star has undertaken wouldn’t be anything mild and small, but would rather be most gamers’ dream come true considering how it is being helmed on a notably big budget, as reported by PC Gamer.

Moreover, besides Amazon Studios announcing that it had acquired the rights to Warhammer 40,000 last year in 2023, Games Workshop has already confirmed Cavill will notably act as an executive producer to this project along with starring in it (via IGN).

While he didn’t spill too many beans about it for reasons all too understandable, considering all these reports about it and Cavill confirming it openly in the wild during a podcast, fans can just expect to see Henry Cavill in a Warhammer 40,000 outfit within little to no time!

For those who don’t know, this utter obsession with the Warhammer 40,000 is nothing new for Henry Cavill. In fact, it started way back in time to when he was just a child, but was only displayed in recent years by the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star.

Like how, during the quarantine period in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Cavill took to creating miniature Warhammer figures and sharing them on his Instagram. Or the time when he couldn’t stop gushing on about the same during an interview at the WitcherCon (via Twitch).

While there are many more instances like these, the nerdy gamer further revealed during the interview with Josh Horowitz how he pretty much grew up “daydreaming” about all these things as he said:

“This is the stuff I’ve been dealing with since I was a kid. This is the stuff I spend my free time daydreaming about, as an adult as well. And I get to bring it into life. And there is no greater reason that I joined the industry than doing something like this, and I’m very happy to be here.”

Well, there you have it: The nerdy, gamer-to-the-core side of Henry Cavill brought, once again, into the light. Though this time, the result of all of this could be something absolutely spectacular for all the Warhammer 40,000 gamers out there!
