Star Wars Outlaws is set to be released later this year and the gaming community is more than ready to see what Ubisoft has in store. It is best to keep expectations low to avoid disappointment and the gaming community should listen to this advice.

The game has to be released and the gaming community is already sounding off and throwing different ideas for an expansion. There is a strong likelihood that the developers have a solid roadmap and that some ideas won’t make the final cut.

Star Wars Outlaws Will Not Give the Fans Everything They Desire

Ubisoft knew the risks of dipping its toes in a high-profile and controversial franchise like Star Wars. It is not uncommon for game developers to take inspiration from other projects, and the Grand Theft Auto franchise somehow inspired the wanted system in Star Wars Outlaws which encouraged the local forces of the Empire to hunt down players.

Game developers can’t cater to everything the player base wants. The fans came up with one idea for a potential expansion that may not be feasible.

Some players have already accepted that not everything they hoped for will be present or available and are happy to take the game for what it is. The developers have a vision and intend to explore certain aspects of the Star Wars lore like the criminal underworld.

The game is set within the same universe as the Skywalker Saga but takes place in an interesting era around the height of the Galactic Civil War. The protagonist is an original character made for the game and can provide the fans with a different point of view which is a nice change of pace.

Ubisoft could have used this game as an opportunity to explore other outposts or factions like the Batuu, until it is said otherwise, it is best to manage expectations but there is a slim chance that the developers may consider an expansion in the future.

Ubisoft Should at Least Consider Listening to the Fans for Future Star Wars Outlaws Content

The developers drew heavy inspiration from the live-action films. The criminal underworld was briefly touched upon in Solo: A Star Wars Story, but nothing else came after from Disney and Lucasfilm. This game could serve as an apology for fans who are into this concept but have never seen it.

Not all ideas can be translated into a video game and fans should understand the complexities of game development. Ubisoft took a gamble with this project but is confident knowing that Lucasfilm gave its blessing to support this original story.

Expansions would make sense if the campaign ended with many loose ends. Perhaps a DLC featuring the Black Spire Outpost will help stretch the narrative and give the developers more room and material to work with.#

The franchise is about to get bigger and Ubisoft has barely scratched the surface. Only time will tell how far the developers will go.
