“There’s not a vegetarian fish”: Taylor Sheridan Hates Vegans With a Passion That’d Make the Duttons Proud

Taylor Sheridan hates vegans with the same ferocity as The Duttons, if not more. And this time, he said it out loud instead of through his series.

"There's not a vegetarian fish": Taylor Sheridan Hates Vegans With a Passion That'd Make the Duttons Proud

SUMMARY

  • On Joe Rogan's podcast, Taylor Sheridan shared why is so opposed to vegans.
  • During this, he presented some practically true facts that couldn't be counterargued by anyone.
  • Before saying it out loud, Sheridan let out this same thought process against vegans through his TV series 'Yellowstone'.

Throughout the time that it aired, Yellowstone proved that it was nothing short of a masterpiece. Helmed by none other than the mastermind Taylor Sheridan, it features the life of the Dutton family, the owners of the largest ranch in America, who, besides battling their internal conflicts, fend off encroachers from their land, too.

In the masterpiece series, there are even instances where the characters repel vegans like mosquitos from their ranch. As it turns out, those particular instances have stemmed from their showrunner’s very own personal preferences and opinions, and a perfectly resonating thought process that probably no one would be able to present counterarguments against.

Taylor Sheridan is a Die-Hard Anti-Vegan with a Reasoning no one can Counterargue

Yellowstone is a true piece of art, and a majority of this credit goes to the utter authenticity the series displays, all thanks to its showrunner Taylor Sheridan, who is nothing short of an immensely successful farmer cum rancher cowboy in real life.

And that authenticity isn’t restricted to just the background; even the thought process of almost all the prominent characters is the same as their creator’s. Especially when it comes to their opinions on vegans or the pretty much herbivorous people.

Recently, while talking with Joe Rogan on his podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, the American filmmaker cum actor shared the same. Sharing why he is so against vegans in the first place, Sheridan said:

“I think one of the most absurd positions anyone can take, is they’re a vegan for an ethical reason. It’s preposterous. You can do it for a medical reason. I don’t know what that reason would be, maybe you can’t process meat and can’t process proteins like that. But to do it for an ethical reason is absurd.”

As for the reason why he says this, it’s because he has “plowed a field,” which is pretty much what he describes as “12 feet of carnage,” for “every single plant that you eat is going to be tilled into the ground at some capacity. So you’re gonna kill everything.”

Explaining how he feels people need to “take ownership,” Taylor Sheridan said:

“If you look anywhere in the ecosystem, take man out of it. Virtually everything is living at the expense of another organism, to the degree that if a certain weed grows up over the grass it’s killing the grass. This little sapling grows up over the grass, it’s killing the grass. If the grass grows up before the weeds, it kills the weeds… there is not a vegan fish, there’s not a vegetarian fish. Every fish, every frog, they’re eating another organism to survive. Every one of them.”

After hearing all of this, to say that everything that the Yellowstone showrunner has said until now about vegans isn’t true would be a massive lie.

If anything, the fierceness and exceptionally true reasoning with which Taylor Sheridan has shut down the mere existence of vegans is not only commendable but is something that would perhaps make even The Duttons proud!

Taylor Sheridan Expressed These Same Thoughts Through Yellowstone

While saying all of these in real life took quite some time for him, Taylor Sheridan had already expressed his thoughts before through his blockbuster TV Yellowstone.

This happened when Summer Higgins, a vegan environmental activist brought up with the mentality that consuming meat and animal products was a cardinal sin, protested for her cause, and Kevin Costner‘s John Dutton explained to her just how much the real price of being a vegan is, saying:

“You ever plow a field? To plant the quinoa or sorghum or whatever the hell it is you eat. You kill everything on the ground and under it. You kill every snake, every frog, every mouse, mole, vole, worm, quail… you kill them all. So, I guess the only real question is: how cute does an animal have to be before you care if it dies to feed you?”

Well, at least now we know where this outstanding reasoning originally originated from!
