In December 2023, Jonathan Majors was found guilty of two counts of assault and harassment charges filed against him by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. In the aftermath of the verdict, Majors was fired from several projects, including his MCU role as Kang. However, Majors finds himself in more trouble as several women have come forward against the actor, accusing him of physical and emotional abuse.
The conviction could potentially land him in jail, however, legal experts believe that the sentencing judge would only give him probation and community service. The sentencing, which was scheduled for February 6th, was recently delayed to April.
Fans Believe Jonathan Majors’ Career Is Done After More Accusations
Two aspiring actresses have now come forward against Kang actor Jonathan Majors, according to the New York Times. The news outlet talked to 20 women associated with Majors to uncover the truth behind the actor’s claim that he had “never struck a woman.” In separate interviews, Emma Duncan and Maura Hooper alleged that Majors had abused them during his relationship with them.
Duncan accused the actor of emotional and physical abuse during their relationship from 2015 to 2019. She also alleged that she was engaged to the White Boy Rick actor. Hooper accused him of emotional abuse when they dated from 2013 to 2015. The report also cited that Majors’ former colleagues on the set of HBO’s Lovecraft Country complained about him to the network.
Fans took to X to comment on the new reports, sharing that Majors is done this time. The Creed III actor has maintained his innocence throughout and shared hope of reviving his career. One fan revealed that it was the “wrap” for the actor. More hurtful comments shared that prison would put a stop to his abusive behavior and that he was a sick man who needed help. Majors’ attorney Priya Chaudhry made a statement on Thursday afternoon, asserting that he had not physically abused Ms. Duncan. She revealed that the Da 5 Bloods actor admitted to a “toxic” relationship with these women and was taking responsibility for his role in them. However, she also disputed the allegations from his colleagues, sharing that “countless” women in Hollywood “can attest to his professionalism.”
Jonathan Majors’ Sentencing Delayed To April
Jonathan Majors was charged with four counts of reckless assault, harassment in the third degree, intentional assault, and aggravated harassment in the second degree. A defense misstep resulted in the introduction of Molineux evidence in the case against Majors. This evidence, from prior uncharged crimes, was used to prove Majors’ abusive behavior.
It consisted of text messages from Majors to Grace Jabbari, where the Devotion actor dissuaded Jabbari from seeking medical care for an unspecified incident between them. Following this evidence, the jury returned a split verdict, deciding not to convict on the more serious charges of reckless assault and aggravated harassment. His sentencing was scheduled for February 6.
The defense for the actor filed a motion to set aside the verdict on February 6. The DA office has until March 5 to respond to the motion, with Manhattan Judge Michael Gaffey stating that he intended to make a ruling on the defense motion by April 1 (via Deadline). With the impending sentencing and the new allegations, Majors’ career prospects don’t look good at all.
