Katy Perry wore an all-black ensemble in her recent Instagram post, and in one video, she said:
“You guys have a lot of strong feelings about my haircut. Let’s see the energy for KP6, ‘cause this is just a wig.”
She might be pertaining to her upcoming untitled full-length album. Fans expressed their excitement in the comments as the singer has not released any new album in the past few years. Meanwhile, some of the comments talked about her wig.
It’s no surprise anymore that Perry wears different wigs on different occasions, but there is also speculation that she might have shaved off her hair again, hence the use of the wig. During one of her appearances on The Ellen Show, she revealed why she had previously decided to cut off her hair (via People):
“I did it about a month and some change ago… I don’t know if you’ve ever dyed your hair blonde, and too blonde, sometimes your hair falls out when you go too blonde. So, this is the way I handled it.”
This meant that her hair got damaged from too much bleaching. In another conversation via the Viceland series The Therapist via Business Insider, Perry shared her struggle with depression and how the public always criticizes her looks.
“People like talk about my hair, right? They don’t like it or they wish that it was longer. I so badly want to be Katheryn Hudson that I don’t even want to look like Katy Perry anymore sometimes.”
It was not just boredom that forced her to shave off her hair but the constant disapproval of the public. The singer might be relying on her wigs to hide her true feelings.
Hair Expert Claims Katy Perry Suffers From Hair Loss
It is not confirmed yet if Perry actually went bald this time, but she has been suffering from thinning hair due to constant styling. As per an article from Belgravia Centre, a hair clinic from London:
“As a natural blonde, Perry’s dyed black hair can often appear to have a slightly wider parting when her roots need doing. Katy’s jet-black hair appears jagged, with no clear line between her roots and dyed hair. This implies a hair loss condition is the cause of her more visible scalp.”
This could possibly be the reason why the pop star often wears wigs to cover up the evidence of her potential case of hair loss.
