While the whole Barbie movie is iconic, the song I’m Just Ken is like the cherry on top. Not only did his and other Ken’s performance and dance to the song took the internet by storm, but the dance break has been regarded as one of the most dramatic and iconic events in the whole movie.
Now also a Grammy-nominated song, and winner of multiple accolades, the chart-topping song will also be heard cruising through the walls of the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood at the 96th Academy Awards on 10 March 2024. And a sneak peek of Ryan Gosling rehearsing it has been going viral on the internet.
Dressed in a graphic tee with the words Grave Digger written on it in bold, supporting a CAT workwear purple and white mesh cap and sunglasses, Gosling looked every bit of Ken as he could despite the casual outfit. And as per People, the Kenergy was pretty high,
“Ryan was in great spirits, and he was a total pro. He was joking around and having a great time… and everyone was having fun.”
Gosling, 43, showed no signs of nervousness and looked pretty excited. And excited he must be for not only is I’m Just Ken nominated for the Best Original Song, but he too has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor for the movie, Barbie.
