Various Fan theories of how Jujutsu Kaisen will end have surfaced over the internet, especially after Gege Akutami, the author, revealed that the series will end this year.
Jujutsu Kaisen is a popular anime series known for its fast-paced action and attractive character designs. The show has gained a large following among young viewers, and the second season, which premiered in fall 2023, was a hit domestically and internationally.
“Is there even anyone left?”
Recent developments in the manga showed that Sukuna has gained all his original powers and is dominating every sorcerer in the current generation. Despite the absence of the strongest sorcerer, Gojo Satoru, the author, Gege Akutami, managed to unite Yuji and Okkotsu Yuta to defeat Sukuna. However, recent chapters have shown that their efforts have been in vain, with Sukuna remaining undefeated even after revealing Yuta’s domain and the intervention of Maki Zenin.
Fans wonder how Sukuna’s rule will end with most potential challengers gone. But with the series ending this year, the developments show no conclusion in sight.
Fan Theories and Jujutsu Kaisen
Every work of fiction that has ever been published to the real world has been a victim of fan theories, ranging from somewhat true, to downright horrendous.
The anime and manga community too has been a prime suspect of these crimes against common sense. Their next target was none other than the series making waves all over the internet right now, Jujutsu Kaisen.
Recently, a fan on Reddit revealed a very peculiar ending theory, that could be compared to the Harry Potter style of writing.
User ThatOneAnnoyingBuzz on Reddit wrote, “Sukuna is going to die to Yuji using the executioner’s sword, it’s the perfect culmination of everyone involved in the character’s arcs”
He continues, “Sukuna would learn about love from Yuji somehow via their encounter. My main reasoning for that is that SpecialZ, a song with heavy romance undertones, is said to be a song from Sukuna to Yuji, and Sukuna’s main plot has been about learning what love is or something.”
Now, any reader of the manga will know that the blind brawling and absolute domination of the King of Curses nowhere correspond to a motive as lukewarm as “learning about love.” Other fans were quick to respond to the user’s interesting theory.
“This isn’t Harry Potter…..”
A fan wrote “This isn’t Harry Potter where Voldemort didn’t know love. But I do think that all things considered (virtually no Megumi and no Gojo) I think only Yuji can do something about it taking into account he’s the protagonist”
Another fan wrote “Nah it’s Gege bro. Everyone’s definitely going to die”
Another interesting theory that emerged in the comments was that Jujutsu Kaisen is merely a prequel and there is definitely going to be a part 2. We do not know as of now what the author has planned for the long awaited climax of the series. We can only hope it can be as satisfying as the whole work.
