The screenwriter and director revealed that he is unsure if Griffith’s character will be coming back in the next season. Teasing that the incarceration may be the end of his story, it may be possible that the villain for the final season will be someone else entirely. However, Hurwitz was not so quick to confirm removing Silver’s character from the story.

Terry Silver Might Still Comeback

Jon Hurwitz mentioned that although he believes Terry Silver’s arrest to be the end for him, he does not rule anything out when it comes to a character as determined and powerful as him. Additionally, he mentioned that Thomas Ian Griffith is a beloved part of the crew of the series, and they would love to work with him more.

“You never know with a character of his means and determination. But we love Thomas Ian Griffith, it’s been amazing working with him the last couple of years. We’ll see if we get to work with him more.”

It is safe to assume that the fate of Silver will only be confirmed when the final season is released. However, if he is absent from it, fans will certainly be upset.

Even though he has played an antagonistic role for the majority of his run in the series, he was still a part of it before the show even began, having played a big role in the 1984 Karate Kid film. With Griffith having been a part of the series for 40 years, having the final season of Cobra Kai without him would certainly make some fans angry.

Cobra Kai is available for streaming on Netflix.
