With the advent of the Super Bowl just a couple of hours away, people are scrambling to make themselves comfortable in front of their screens or grab tickets with the best views in the stadium. This year, an unlikely individual in the form of Taylor Swift will be paying close attention to the sport as she wishes her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his team The Kansas City Chiefs good luck.
Naturally, this also extends to all the Swifties who are also big fans of the sporting event sending their best wishes to the Chiefs and hoping for their win with the first match to kick off the event facing the San Francisco 49ers. But in a recent development, it seems like another generous supporter in the form of Drake has emerged to take a stand with the Swifties with his million-dollar bet for the Chiefs’ win, which seeing his betting history, may spell doom for the team.
Drake Bets $1.15 Million On The Kansas City Chiefs Winning Their Super Bowl Match
It’s that time of the year again when households will be scurrying around to get everything done so that they may have no distractions while watching The Super Bowl LVIII later. One of the biggest and most highly anticipated annual sporting events in the US, there’s no shortage of celebrities and renowned individuals having their eyes set on it, and this time, pop sensation Taylor Swift has her head in the game thanks to Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs.
So naturally, the singer and songwriter are all set to support her boyfriend and his team in the upcoming face-off against the San Francisco 49ers in the match that will kick off the Super Bowl of 2024. But it seems like her presence and her influence in the event this year may have brought the attention of Drake to the Chiefs, which is why he has bet $1.15 Million in Bitcoin for them winning the upcoming match.

The hip hop and R&B icon posted the receipts of him betting this absurd amount of money on the Chiefs and team member Patrick Mahomes with his caption saying ‘I can’t bet against the Swifties’. Since the Bad Blood singer started making her appearances in the Chief’s games, their appeal in the eyes of the public has started to skyrocket, which seems to also have rubbed off on Drake who now believes in the ability of the team to win.
However, some people have also pointed out how this can be a bad thing, especially when looking at the hip-hop artist’s past track record on sports betting.
Drake Has A Negative History With Sports Betting
While the support was much appreciated by all the Swifties and fans of the Kansas City Chiefs, the Drake Curse might just be what becomes the team’s downfall in the upcoming match.
For those who are unfamiliar with this term, the Drake Curse is when the R&B star bets on a sporting event, and the individual and team he bets on tend to lose every time. In the past, Drake bet on Sean Strickland beating Dricus Du Plessis, which he lost since Strickland did too. Before that, he bet on Israel Adesanya winning against Strickland at UFC 293, which he again lost when The Stylebender was defeated.
Thus, fans hope that the Chiefs dodge the effects of this curse, or else a big upset might happen as the event begins.
