The Rock headlined WWE’s yearly WrestleMania event in Philadelphia this past weekend. Thousands of fans flocked to the football stadium, which is home to the Philadelphia Eagles. However, The Rock wasn’t the only one entertaining fans. Iconic WWE superstars Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, John Cena, and more also showed up at WrestleMania 40.
However, none of their presence created the same hype as the legendary, The Undertaker’s surprise appearance. But, a clip of the retired professional wrestler has caught many fans’ attention, since the action-packed event concluded. To the shock of many fans, the video disproves a popular theory of The Undertaker.
The Undertaker Choke-Slammed The Rock During Surprise WrestleMania Appearance
The Rock was the star of the show at WrestleMania 40. Together with Roman Reigns, the WWE icon beat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins during the Saturday, April 6 event. The Rock even pinned Rhodes to the ground, causing the crowd to break out in echoing cheers. However, Sunday was payback time for Rhodes who defeated Reigns in a surprise-filled match.
While fans were happy to see Roman Reigns get the recognition he deserved at WrestleMania 40, many voiced their disappointment over LA Knight defeating AJ Styles. However, one of the most talked about moments of Sunday night was when The Undertaker, true to his style, suddenly appeared behind The Rock and choke-slammed the wrestler in the ring.
Hollywood star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, showed up in the ring during the Rhodes versus Reigns match. As he urged Rhodes to get up from the ring floor, WWE decided to pull one of its oldest tropes and the lights in the stadium suddenly shut down.
When they turned back on, The Undertaker stood right behind The Rock. Just like the fans, the latter too, was utterly shocked upon seeing the WWE legend. However, The Undertaker wastes no time and directly goes for his opponent’s throat. He also grabs the wrestler by his pants to get a better grip, before choke-slamming him hard on the floor.

BTS Video Dispels The Undertaker’s Batman-Styled Urban Myth
The Undertaker choke-slamming The Rock will go down as one of the most iconic WrestleMania moments. But, a behind-the-scenes video of him from the event got many talking.
The eye-opening clip posted by the founder of Fade Away Media on X (formerly known as Twitter) has exposed The Undertaker’s biggest secret. It sees the WWE legend running backstage with his bodyguards in tow, right after dealing a major blow to his opponent inside the ring.
After watching the clip, fans began making jokes about the long-standing WWE trope about The Undertaker simply appearing and disappearing from the ring, just like Batman.
“Wait? He does not disappear?” one fan jokingly wrote on Twitter.
