Launched back in 2013 with Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel starring Henry Cavill as the lead, the DC live-action connected universe aka the DCEU finally succumbed to its own box-office and critical failures following the release of Justice League. Taking control of the remnants and determined to start over with a clean slate came James Gunn and Peter Safran, the former almost ready to kick-start it all with Superman.

Starring David Corenswet as the next wearer of the red cape, The Suicide Squad director will mark his second DC directorial project and the first in the new universe. Planned meticulously, the film has now taken full steam after initial restructurings and title changes. Furthermore, its latest move comes across as a double-edged sword, with one side being in fans’ favor, but the other bearing severe inconvenience to a few US residents.

Remarkably enough, the mega-project bravely stood through the twin Hollywood strikes and is on track to meet its 2025 release deadline. In his quest to achieve the same, James Gunn has taken over Stovall Road for practical shoots of Superman as per an official notice shared by DCU Updates on X (formerly Twitter). The quaint setting in Austell, Georgia, will stand as a placeholder locality for Smallville, Kansas, the childhood town of Clark Kent, as per the comics.

Additional information, as per La Grange Daily News, also detailed the pre-production, currently underway in the 600 block of Stovall Road and also that a bulk of setup already kicked off a week ago. The notice also revealed that the entire duration will be at least nine days, starting from June 4 and all the way up to June 12.

The letter served to residents of the locality mentioned traffic disruption and road closures, causing them inconvenience and a feeling of being guests in their own neighborhood. Additionally, accountability for hard delays in businesses has also been undertaken by the filming association, with emergency vehicles on track to support.

At a time when the residents of the shot locality have to bear the brunt of delays, fans can expect to witness set photos or sightings that may provide details regarding the upcoming movie. As of now, only shy details regarding the plot have come to the fore, courtesy of James Gunn himself. Furthermore, insights about the potential cast for a probable young Superman may also make their way onto the web.

Initially titled Superman: Legacy, the movie recently got its title tweaked to Superman, along with a full preview of David Corenswet in a new suit. Mixed reactions to the reveal soon followed, even as the costume likely featured the iconic red briefs associated with the early comic-accurate versions of the character, along with similar elements borrowed from the Henry Cavill version.
