Solo Leveling has become one of the top-searched anime of 2024. People had high expectations from the anime, and the anime was delivered on the very first episode. It was a great start for the anime, and it kept the same level of excitement for the next few episodes. Characters like Cha Hae-in were introduced earlier than expected, and fans thought it was a great move from the creators.
But after a few episodes, Solo Leveling seems to have hit a dead end, and the fans are infuriated with it. The official announcement mentioned that the next episode would be a recap episode, and thus began the backlash. It seemed to be a great anime, but with the latest announcement, the expectations have been lowered tenfold.
Upcoming Solo Leveling Episode Will Be A Recap
Solo Leveling episode 7 was pretty interesting, with another S-Rank Hunter, Hwang Dongsoo, making his anime debut. Apart from that, Sung Jin-Woo also locates a potion that will heal his mother. While such an interesting part was going on, the creators decided to include a recap episode in between. It will be a bonus episode, 7.5. Most likely, it will feature a recap of all seven episodes aired till now.

The fans were quite furious with the latest news. Season one of Solo Leveling will only have 12 episodes, so including a filler episode in between does not do justice to the fans. Episode 7.5 is set to release on February 24, 2024. After that, only five episodes will be left of season 1. Moreover, the anime has barely got into the main plot. There is hardly any content to be shown as a recap. A recap of the entire season was fine, but in between episodes, it was a disappointment to the fans.
Fans have become more vocal after anime became mainstream. There are several forums and social media platforms that the fans have raised their voices on. Soon after the announcement, the Solo Leveling fandom flooded social media with several complaints regarding the recap episode.

After Solo Leveling announced a bonus episode on February 24, 2024, the fans were infuriated. They do not want a recap episode and want the main story to continue. They were quick to address their concern on social media. One of the X (formerly Twitter) users said they did not ask for the recap.

Solo Leveling was one of the most anticipated anime of 2024. Sung Jin-Woo leveling up at each instance is amazing to watch. But considering a recap announced so early, it could be a potential game-changer for the fans. Solo Leveling still has a few more episodes to go. So, the fans hope the rest of the episodes will make it up for the recap episode.
