Since the 2023 romantic comedy has made it big at the box office, both Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell have discussed the possibility of a sequel on several occasions. And the Euphoria star recently discussed the idea once again during an interview with GQ Magazine.

While an official confirmation for a sequel is still pending, prospects for its development appear promising. However, another film could also reignite the alleged cheating rumors with her co-star which persisted throughout the production of Anyone But You.

Such speculations were made based on their on and off-screen chemistry. The rumors only escalated after Powell and his girlfriend decided to split and the actors continued to showcase their chemistry and bond during the press tour of the 2023 film.

However, both actors denied such claims. Sweeney has been in a relationship with Jonathan Davino since 2018 and the two got engaged in 2022. Davino even produced Sweeney’s 2023 rom-com, Anyone But You despite having no prior experience working in the film industry.

Sydney Sweeney Addressed Her Rumoured Affair With Glen Powell

Making her Saturday Night Live hosting debut earlier this month, the Madame Web star jokingly addressed her rumored affair with her co-star Glen Powell. In her monologue, the actress addressed several rumors circulating about her, such as people claiming to be her nutritionist.

However, the “craziest rumor” she came across was that “while I was filming Anyone But You I was having an affair with my co-star Glen Powell.” Sweeney denied the claims, stating, “That’s obviously not true.” She further explained that her fiancé, who also produced the film, was there for the entire shoot.

The actress has earlier addressed the claim, asserting that they were just having fun making the movie. “I mean, we sold a rom-com,” she told People in an interview. Powell has also credited his co-star for the publicity chemistry between them while promoting the film, as he admitted that it was “harder” for him to navigate such things while going through a breakup.

Sweeney also shared remarks on the same in her recent interview with GQ. “You can’t control the media and I think that’s what a lot of my monologue was about,” she said during the interview, emphasizing the lack of research behind sensationalized claims and labeling them as mere clickbait.

Anyone But You is available to rent or buy on Prime Video.
