The Xbox vs. PlayStation debate is something of a long-running narrative where the latter has dominated throughout the years. Fanboys are trying to prove their respective consoles superior in terms of their quality. Again, PS wins the battle here. Microsoft too is reportedly busy with the development of the next console but it is unlikely it will beat PS as far as the historic rivalry is concerned.
Phil Spencer, who recently celebrated his 10th year as the Xbox head, also hinted about the upcoming console in one podcast recently. However, that will be a debate for another time. As of now, one fan shared her opinion by comparing graphics delivered by both rivals from which many are likely to disagree.
That’s a Gimmick That a Fan Used To Downsize PlayStation
One user dubbed AnaAnsan3 took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) an image showcasing Gears of War 4 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in a side-by-side graphics comparison. The former game was developed for Xbox One and Windows while the latter for PS5.
The post in question is actually questionable as the user seems to be a fan of Microsoft’s console and showcases GoW 4 in a better light.

Appears like the user got busted as fans were furious enough to highlight the fact that she actually used a high-resolution image for GoW while a low-resolution for Spider-Man 2.
“Ofc you used a low res image of Kraven,” notes one user called Hez while sharing one image of the game’s version of Kraven The Hunter.

Assessing the post’s comments, we realized this was simply another attempt by a fan who tried to showcase one console as superior to the other. Appears like she failed ultimately.
Console War May Be Replaced With Streaming War in the Future
The ninth-generation consoles of both Sony and Microsoft appear to be evenly matched as far as the performance is concerned. Moreover, both of them have a big library of their respective exclusive games. Some are so good that rival fans are urging developers to make the games go cross-platform. Microsoft has already made four of their exclusive games cross-platform.
Sales-wise, PS has always topped the charts with PS2 being the best console, selling 158 Million units worldwide. On the contrary, Microsoft’s bestseller remains Xbox 360 with around 85 Million units sold globally. One of the reasons for Sony’s console overshadowing its rival is the quality of legacy games it has provided over the years.
Like Nintendo vs Sega has become a thing of the past, the current console giants are likely to become history, ending the console war for good. The reason for this is the rise of streaming recently, which may replace console war with streaming war.
